I disapprove of corporeal punishment in general for being relatively ineffective compared to imposed social isolation, but this seems like a non-harmful restraining action to me. Its excessive, certainly, for a twelve year old girl, but not enough to merit disciplinary action on his part.

Sorry, but......your statement here, to me, doesn't make much sense.

Thank you for your insightful addition of typos, and I was referring to how it seemed that he did it in the correct fashion, with his body bearing the blow to the floor.

 

There aren't any typos - I was simply paraphrasing what you said and included a few facts, like the girl's weight......and what are you talking about by claiming 'his body bearing the blow to the floor'? Which was concrete.......

Anyway, obviously there's adults who thinks this cop handled the kicking girl the right way and some who don't......I absolutely do not. If this 12 yr old girl had a knife or was in some way a threat to his life, then I could see why he did what he did, but other than that.....

Well, I think I'm pretty much done here......

I'm sure you would be the FIRST to run to a lawyer when your kid ends up a vegetable because his head was caved in on the concrete floor, or when your kid ends up paralyzed.

 

Hitting a recruit is a court-martial offense and can result in prison time and a dishonorable discharge. (Should result in a firing squad composed entirely of recruits.)

 

But I suspect those methods are not as much FUN as being a thug!
