Fed policy can waste money without consequence too.
That's something YOU don't seem to understand.

(They just buy up assets for more than they're worth, or lend out money for below market interest rates)

I said nothing about the Right (if that's who you mean by 'Conservatives'). But since you ask, some do like Big Govt, some don't. Some are liberal, some aren't.

LIBERALS are about freedom (the clue is in the name). Harder to maintain liberty with Big Govt.

Actually, not all. Possibly even 'few' know it. Upshot, the man is nothing like a socialist. He and AOC (and their ilk) are all about the profits. How they decide to spend those profits - on which particular luxuries - is not even a tiny bit relevant.

Dropped some companies from the index so that the numbers become higher while the remaining companies used high-frequency trading to game the system?

Given that, I'd probably look at other economic indicators, and broad ones as well, like those from Shadow Stats.

Neo-liberalism, i.e., globalization involving outsourcing, etc. For conservatism, neo-conservatism, or the use of the military industrial complex to keep the petrodollar propped up.

Actually, they were wary of banks and standing armies.

Without the bailout, the loss of homes and jobs may have been much worse as these companies went belly-up. Of course, Trump and his followers were against the bailouts, but not a word about Trump's bailout of the farmers.

party supporters were appalled at the bailout measures

Trump gave some relief from a failed Dodd Frank law. Why must Democrats only see a path to solutions by passing laws? Appraisers all over America were screwed by Dodd Frank. So were the Mortgage origination firms. CA for example already had strong mortgage laws so why wasn't CA exempted? We in the business had to endure more education, but not to help homeowners, it was to wind us up in Federal law. Worse we pay the state for being a Mortgage Broker along with paying the Feds. Worse though CA licenses last 4 years, the Dodd Frank law license is only 1 year long. Then they force you into more unneeded schooling and pay what amounts to an annual huge fee to the Feds to keep the license. Perhaps you don't care but you may be next to have to deal with a draconian law and pay to the feds just to keep a job. Think about how unfair that is! Are you forced to pay fees to the Feds to keep your own job?

But Liberals who love freedom did not pass Dodd Frank into law. Those were Democrats who in cases are against law but yet rush to create laws. Democrats are the father of the bulk of law at least since 1933.

They never saw a freedom that they could not pass a law to either restrict or cancel out.

I don't recall discussing the 21st congress make up.

Dodd Frank is a contraption created by Democrats. It reminds me of a man with a busted leg going to his doctor. There the doctor gives him heart surgery. But forgets the busted leg. BTW, do not say the heart needed surgery. not in this instance.

It looks to me like I look again I got what you said wrong.

    But Democrats are not liberals.

I say that over and over with an explanation.

Liberals are loathe to create laws. They perform a valuable service fighting for huge leaps of freedom. They do not mean for women, they mean for all of us.

Democrats love passing laws. Laws do not add to freedom, laws put brakes on freedom and in some cases remove freedoms.

Democrats fight daily against the 2nd amendment as an example. They fight against freedom of religion. They sue high schools for allowing their school football players from a prayer prior to and at games end.

Democrats know they create laws because they admit it.

When republicans actually create laws, in some cases Democrats deny it and take all the credit. Such as the 1964 civil rights law. This would not have happened under Kennedy. Why not? Per the records of the congress, he was fearing losing the South. Kennedy had come extremely close to losing the presidency. Johnson feared it too but not so much not to promote it. But in both houses of Congress Democrats waged a hell of a war to stop the civil rights law. Republican were much more united in making it happen.

Republicans not in favor had no issue with blacks, but they felt this was the domain of states and not the Feds. But they wanted to help blacks.

Frankly republicans did not control states that were against blacks. Those were all run by Democrats.

Why not bailout homeowners directly and let companies go to hell?

And then what? Trump is bailing out the farmers for votes, and they are losing their markets regardless. Bailing out individuals does not resolve anything. The companies 'go to hell' and the homeowners have no place to work.
