The, "casting couch," and Women's accountability or lack there of

Women are attracted to powerful men and men pursue power to be attractive to women, yet the only people culpable in this equation are the powerful men???

 

Who says they are attracted to them?

 

ahh .. no, we're not.

some creepy old men have a fantasy that power will make them attractive to young beauties, but it's just that, a fantasy. SOME trashy women from poorer nations and/or the trailer park might tolerate the repulsion for money, but that's the best that can be hoped for. either way, fat old men don't become attractive via money or power. The women who prostitute themselves thusly find fat old rich guys just as repulsive as fat old janitors, be certain of that.

incidentally, the problem isn't with one gender in particular, the problem is with dysfunctional old men who have convinced themselves they're entitled to younger women. if you (dysfunctional old guys) don't seek such women, you won't ever have to live with the knowledge that your imported wife despises you, while she's spending all your money. it's also with women who think so little of themselves that they'll sleep with someone they find repulsive.

 

Flawed assumptions on several counts.

1. "Women are attracted to powerful men" - Some are, some aren't. It's not a universal truth.

2. "men pursue power to be attractive to women" - wrong again for the same reason.

3. "yet the only people culpable in this equation are the powerful men" - again a flawed assumption. In the case of Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein and Bill O'Reilly, harassing or raping underlings makes them solely culpable. Blaming the victim is nonsense.

If women do not prefer powerful men then explain the number of studies in Molecular Biology examining Y-chromosomal and Mitochondrial DNA that have found throughout human history many more women have reproduced than men? For example, one study examined the Y chromosomal and mitochondrial DNA of 450 Volunteers from 7 world regions and determined that 8,000 years ago 17 women reproduced for every one man. The researchers in this study believe the reason only 1 man reproduced for every 17 women 8,000 years ago is that only a few men accumulated lots of wealth and power. In other words, powerful men with status reproduced, while men without status did not reproduce.

Moreover, since 450 volunteers from 7 world regions were used in this study, this is an example of ‘universality.’ The definition of universality is things done by all people throughout the world with few exceptions. Therefore according to evolutionary psychology women selecting, ‘wealthy and powerful,’ men as mates is most likely an evolutionary adaptation.

 

A few things have changed over the past 8000 years. Since most Americans have access to plenty of food and other necessities, the term "power" has changed from one being able to save you from starvation or death to someone with a lot of money and nice clothes.

 

Actually it's changed to whatever the individual wants it to mean. You say 'money and nice clothes', I say: determination to see things through, commitment to kindness and humility, and a lack of laziness (for example).

It's also my opinion that women still need men to be providers for their breeding years. Assuming women are doing it the old fashioned way, of course (breastfeeding for at least 12 months).

 

I should have made my post more clear that "money and nice clothes" was spoken euphemistically since, as you pointed out, the word has been expanded to mean many things in the modern era.

As for needing 'men to be providers", many Democrats are pushing for the State to replace men in that responsibility. They've already been successful among African-Americans.

 

Call it what you will...

"I want a man who is going places..."
"I want security"
or
"I want a man with the determination to see things through."

It all means the same thing-which is, "I want a man with status."

 

No it doesn't. "status" is something that exists in the context of a social or public profile. And a social/public profile is not something that I would ever seek (in a man).

 

Chinese men in America don't see any need to take them up on their dubious offer.

That won't stop the Democrats from trying.

 

I explain it this way: There are women out there with very little self-respect, very little ability to make their own way in life, and who are very easily led.

 

I'm fairly sure that some would actually prefer to see Chinese/Korean/Indian Americans start to fail, so they can herd them onto the plantation.

 

A slight correction; while the Democrats are certainly racist, they want to see all non-elite Americans "start to fail, so they can herd them onto the plantation."

Not self respect as much as self esteem. Women have been denied equal rights for hundreds of years, like African Americans ...and have internalized the message that they are inferior...it takes movements and raised consciousness to change things....and it’s working

 

The. Why do men feel threatened by powerful women? Why don’t men want a “woman with status , or a woman going places“?
