Lyin' Michael Mann had to substitute heavily contaminated and falsified thermometer readings for proxy data to fabricate his hockey stick, because the proxy data didn't support the claim of rapid warming. The best data show clearly that temperature rose much faster at the end of the last Ice Age. Recent variation is well within the normal century-scale fluctuation range of the Holocene.
