The composition of the US-House of Representatives has slightly changed...

... and this has electoral implications.

With the untimely death of Congressman Elijah Cummings, there are now 3 vacancies in the US HOR and this will stay this way until at least January 27, 2020.

This means that the current composition of the lower House of Congress is:

234 D
197 R
1 IND
3 vacancies
Margin: D +37

This means that currently, 432 of 435 House seats are occupied, which means that absolute majority is 217 votes, not 218. But even after the WI-07 seat is decided by election on January 27th, 2020, the magic number will still be: 217. First when either MD-08 or NY-27 are filled per election will absolute majority rise back to 218.

Why electoral implications? Well, first of all, the upcoming impeachment vote, for starters.
