By the way, Alexander Stephens was misquoted in the cornerstone speech and the “author” refused to allow him to make corrections.

And then went on to commit genocide against Plains Indians.

By the way before you quote it. The part in parentheses was not Stephens but was added by the author of the page hence why it’s in parentheses.

But I’ll call your vp and raise you a president. I present “The Great Emancipator” Abraham Lincoln in his own words:

“I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the states where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.”

“I have never had the least apprehension that I or my friends would marry negroes if there was no law to keep them from it, but as Judge Douglas and his friends seem to be in great apprehension that they might, if there were no law to keep them from it, I give him the most solemn pledge that I will to the very last stand by the law of this State, which forbids the marrying of white people with negroes.”

“There is a natural disgust in the minds of nearly all white people to the idea of indiscriminate amalgamation of the white and black races … A separation of the races is the only perfect preventive of amalgamation, but as an immediate separation is impossible, the next best thing is to keep them apart where they are not already together. If white and black people never get together in Kansas, they will never mix blood in Kansas…”

“Our republican system was meant for a homogeneous people. As long as blacks continue to live with the whites they constitute a threat to the national life. Family life may also collapse and the increase of mixed breed bastards may some day challenge the supremacy of the white man.”

Yep dude did try to assassinate Hitler. Had he succeeded the war might have ended much earlier and a lot fewer people might have died. I'd even countenance a statue of Hitler provided the plaque on its base read 'Crazy isn't always obvious until later.'

By the way, our daughters of the confederacy museum was firebombed.

so what good does putting them in a museum do? Just trying to make it easier to destroy them all by putting them in one place?

Why the hell should the Indians receive anything? Because we beat their ass?
Are they going to give the land back to the other Indians that they wiped out and STOLE it from originally? If not, on what grounds should they receive anything?

One museum was firebombed . . . with no report of what was actually destroyed. One museum. In the entire country. And you want to know what good a museum would do? Were you under the impression that this was an honest response? That's as misinformed as your own avatar is.

There are only three legitimate confederate museums in the US. Firebombing 1/3 of them is certainly noteworthy.

I’ll be HAPPY to educate you on the civil war anytime you’d like to go.

As I said before, the ideas that the southerners were traitors or that they went to war to preserve slavery are both DEMONSTRABLY false and easily refuted.

If you can't find any confederate material in any museum outside of those three . . . you need to do more homework.

But for the record, what would you say if a black museum was firebombed? Just one though. And firebombed by a group of white people? But just one. Since apparently that’s cool.

Of course you can but the vast majority of them are in museums which produce outright lies about their intent.

Cute. I've cited more primary sources from the time period than anyone else on the forums. If you are a Confederate apologist who can address historical sources, you will literally be the first on this forum to do so.

Unless, you know, you actually bother to read what they had to say for themselves. Let me guess, you are another one of those apologists whose entire argument involves trying to rewrite history and pretending you know more about the Confederacy's motives than the Confederacy knew about their own motives. Always adorable.

Fake argument. I never defended it or said it was "cool." Would it literally kill you to be honest? Please read. Please. Read. I realize doing so what make it difficult to be a Confederate apologist, and maybe being a Confederate apologist is more important to you, but just try reading.

No my argument revolves around logic and facts. I know that’s something you lefties have a problem with. But let’s start with the idea the confederates were traitors.

If you and I enter into an agreement and we both willfully sign a contract that defines our rights and responsibilities under said agreement.

Years later I come back and say, “You know I never liked this part of our agreement because I consider it to be immoral. As such I’m no longer going to uphold that portion of our contract whether you like it or not.” You respond and say, “That’s fine. If you want to unilaterally alter our agreement without my consent then I want out of our partnership.”

Who is the traitor? You or I?

If I then come back and say, “No you’re not leaving our partnership and if I have to murder your men, women and children to stop you then that’s what I’m going to do.”

Who is in right and who is in the wrong? Furthermore if placed in that position would you not fight back?

And they committed genocide on other tribes to get that land. Do you think they were the first Indian tribe here?

Nothing fake. You made the claim that it was JUST ONE. Which is nothing more than trying to downplay the atrocious ness of the action.

If it’s not, then what was the point?
