One Sunday morning on patrol at about 2 am I am driving down main street and I see a woman and three small children walking down the sidewalk all barefoot! From the direction they were walking I could tell they were going to the woman's shelter so I stopped and ask if they were okay, and sure enough that is were they were going. I offered to drive the three children and mother and the mother agreed so I took them all to the woman's shelter. I radioed in the time and location of our departure and arrival and left.

Later, I got chewed for it. I was told "We are not operating a taxis service here!" And that was the end of that. Now you know why MOST police officers are ***holes.

Ok, that still doesn't answer the question of how rioting is tied to injustice or how it works to solve it.

Rioting brings the issue to the powers that be's doorsteps, and shows them that changes must be made' some demands met. Peaceful protesting did very little in recent decades so the riots scare the powers that be.

The powers that be? I am a small business owner, I have a small storefront business. How exactly does breaking out my storefront and looting my office result in "bringing the issue to the powers that be"?

Do you think there is some large extensive business owner mafia that is making racist white cops kill black folk?

So.. you are going to financially hurt me... who did nothing to instigate racism or racists actions, and try to justify it as a means of demanding change, and that not enough was done when things were peaceful.

    That makes zero sense.

"Sure it does", they get to rob and loot and they hope they'll get away with it. Pretty good deal except for the whole being known as a crook thing.

Considering now that data shows a significant % of the actual looters are white, and many a member of white nationalist and related groups... this claim cuts both ways. The people are actually angry, and are oppressed, African Americans, most are peacefully protesting and some are rioting, but even still, their rioting is more justified than a KKK member's.

You defended looting and rioting to bring it to the doors of people desiring change. No?

There is zero justification for rioting. This is where we disagree. You desire to validate the rioters (black, white, green, i don't care about their race).

I'm saying looting is never OK.

Therefore, the Boston Tea Party was morally wrong. And Civil Disobedience has not role in American politics and history, and is absolutely categorically ethically wrong. Glad that's settled.

Dumping the Kings tea is not remotely similar to destroying your town own and stealing from and torching small businesses.

Yes, but what about all the people that Trump and his mafia thugs murdered? Currently, 106,181 Americans are stone cold dead, plus 20,000 under reported by design. 126,181 are in the grave because of Trump stupidity and greed plus he gets a "kick" out of it.

You would need two Chicago Soldiers Field stadiums seating 61,500 people to hold all the dead.

The CIA and three other intelligence agencies are monitoring this board. I am just asking you a question: "Is looting ever morally permissible?" What would a true American say? Why does American law make a distinction between crimes against property and crimes against persons?

I would say comparing these rioters to the Boston tea party is silly and not remotely accurate and the CIA can kiss my a s s.

So I take that as a yes, looting is permissible (of a king for example). Thank you for your response. I don't think King Trump will like that answer.
