From the NYT: The Fed May Give Trump His Rate Cut. The Question Is When - excerpt:

Trump's only concern is to assure that shrinking part of the population that would normally revote him into office gets no smaller. And, with luck, that they actually increase in number. (Which is likely not-gonna-happin. This guy's political-trickery is out of the bag as these last three years have shown well enough.)

And nobody seems to be concerned that lower Fed interest-rates could boost demand but also inflation - in which case the Fed has to change course oppositely and raise interest-rates. The country is at its lowest point in recent Unemployment Rates:

Trying willfully to lower them further could very well be inflationary.

Can't happen? Time will tell. It always does ...

From the Guardian: US elections 2020: a simple guide to the race for the White House
    - excerpt:
What are the stats saying today? Ever hear about "Generation Z"?

"Generation Z" is coming into voting age. They were not there in significant percentage numbers in 2016. That has changed.

They are taking the place of the "Silent and older" group that is steadily lowering (due to aging).

I suggest that the above changes significantly the playing-field of the 2020 presidential vote ...

Wishful thinking? Yes! And not just a little bit ... !

PS: "Generation Z" is the one that voted those four women into the HofR who have got right up Donald Dork's nose!

The Fed is data-dependent; the FOMC changes rates because of the information given, not because the President demands it...
