To progressives, even moderate liberals are considered far right.

Kylo is not Snoke... Did you actually watch the movie?

    No thank you.
How is our sense of unity today? Not good?

This is what we get running these kind of agendas.

Rey wasn't even an apprentice. She was completely untrained as far as we know. And Kylo was more than accomplished with the force considering what he could do. Darth Maul was also finished, so him beating Qui Gon wasn't a stretch at all. And he simply got beat by Obi by pride and surprise...luck. Rey didn't use luck. She used Hulk Hogan WWF tactics. Hehe

Darth whooped Luke's ass in Empire like he should have and Kylo should have whooped Rey the same way. Would have made their next meeting that much better. After Luke trains her it would make sense that she could hold her own. But not now.

I hope the next movie fills in these holes to make it a little more fleshed out. Disney executives probably got in the way as usual.

I know he's not. He was trained by Snoke. When did I say otherwise ?

*EDIT - apologies, I see what I typed to Oxy. My rage got me flustered but you know what I meant.

    Then dont state it.

Kylo at the end is called to Snokes side to complete his training. Kylo also has a constant battle between good and evil. Never mind that he just killed his father. Never mind he was injured.

Face it you just want to create debate were there is none. Rey seems to be Lukes daughter. Considering those blood lines.....

No. My issue is not with gender, but with the fact a female fighter with little experience does what she does in the movie.

Only shows lazy writing behind The Force Awakens. It's basically a rip off of the original movies.

So you want racial homogeny to promote "a sense of unity"?

Maybe a sense of unity could be promoted by creating a society that doesn't systemically discriminate against ethnic minorities.

No, I would have made a thread in the movie section entitled "Force Awakens is lazy writing and a rip off the original movies."

But in this case, I had to put it in political section because I believe race and gender played a role in who was cast for parts, making plot secondary to agenda.

in Star Wars 4-6, there was only one single black person, out of thousands of actors.

    does this bother you?

Not a bit. Why should it ? Glen Garry Glen Ross had no women or blacks in it but it's one of my favorite movies. Your point ?

You seem to be more obsessed with race than me.

She may or may not be trained in the force (my guess is the latter but we won't know for sure until those holes are filled). Regardless though, to say she is completely untrained can't hold true. She grew up as a scavenger who had to fend for herself, to feed herself and survive. She probably self trained herself in combat skills to fend off any enemies trying to steal from her. Look at what she did to Finn who was a trained stormtrooper. Rey is knowledgeable when it comes to combat and can fend for herself with no problem.

As mentioned, Kylo had minimal training and was severely injured (First by Chewie and then by Finn). That is how Rey was able to defeat him. It wasn't so much the force that helped her, but her combat skills she learned over the years.

this nation has tens of millions of blacks and other racial minorities.

and yet Star Wars, out of thousands of actors, had only one non-white actor.

so this is ok, but a strong female character is bad?????

interesting selective outrage you got there.

I saw the movie the other day, and were not all the bad guys Whites or White-looking? Why couldn't at least one bad person had been Black, Hispanic, Asian or Native American? Wouldn't there be more of a sense of unity and equality if say one of Landau's Black love children was the villan?

Rey did not have ZERO experience.

She was obviously trained, with Kylo, at the Jedi Temple, but is younger than him.

Kylo went to the Dark Side, killed the rest of the Jedi trainees, killed Luke's wife, but Luke was able to save Rey and sent her into exile far away, and he also went into exile.

So Rey had some training, but has forgotten how and where.

you're logic doesn't make sense. If I was ok with little/no blacks or women in the original star wars, how am i being selective ?

how come its ok to not accurately misrepresent American demographics, but its not ok to have a strong female character?

    like I said, selective outrage.

I didn't notice that, and I didn't care either. The only reason to notice that is if you have an unhealthy obsession with a white persecution complex.
