Nope. I’m just showing that Canada found it impractical to register all guns in the country like you would like to see happen here.
I haven’t seen it. I think it’s pretty rare. It’s tough to trace it back to someone that there is no proof that they possessed it.
In actual practice no, out of 99% of all firearms used in crime, the traces never revealed anything, but the firearms last legal owner, before it was stolen, so it reveals no useful or useable information. And if no usable forensic evidence is recovered, no way to identify the criminal in question, Gun Registration is simply not a magic wand.
you mean the gun bans that you constantly pretend you don't support but you constantly approvingly refer to though
In my signature, an ATF agent explains how constitutional gun registration can help to prevent illegal gun transfers. I think that is a good reason for supporting it.
He's a lying sack of crap. He knows that is not a possibility. Its sad that the ATF-which is pretty much a agency that gets people who don't cut it as FBI, DEA USMS or SS, also attracts people who want to ban guns. But its true-lots of ATF higher ups end up working for anti gun organizations.
Yeah, about that...... "Registration records would allow investigators to track every gun to its last legal owner. This alone would deter most gun owners from making an illegal transfer. Even persons who routinely violate other laws would have reason to avoid illegal gun transfers. They do not welcome police attention and thus would have reason to avoid transferring guns registered to them." -former ATF Special Agent William Vizzard ******************************** Well you can see obvious flaws, of course Registration points to the last legal owner of a firearm, that point is well established. Except for Strawman sales, and illegal gun trafficking, nobody is selling firearms randomly to prohibited persons. If someone is routinely violating other laws and also selling firearms even trafficking them, they have multiple even more serious issues. Special Agent Vizzard is blurring the line between Criminals and law abiding citizens, and Firearms traffickers get caught in law enforcement stings.
Such as what? What more is lost if a prohibited individual is found in possession of an unregistered firearm, as opposed to a registered firearm? A prohibited individual cannot possess a firearm under any circumstances, so what difference does a registration mandate make?
Indeed they do not. No country that currently has firearms registration in place, has been able to point to a single instance in which their registration program was instrumental in solving any particular crime.
Your signature does not match the findings of the ATF in the state of California, where nearly half of all firearms found in the possession of known criminals were registered in accordance with state laws on the matter. More firearms in criminal possession came from the state of California, than from any other state where they were traced back to. The agent in question is discussing matters of politics rather than legitimate practices.
I have told my gun control plan on here many times and will do so again. But anyone that asks must also present their plan to reduce gun deaths in this country. Come to the table as an equal. I will provide the same level of evidence you provide. That is debate. I am tired of one sided attacks. Lets debate BOTH of our plans
our plans-punish criminals not honest gun owners your plan-harass and punish honest gun owners, leave armed criminals alone criminals cause at least 80% of the armed violence in the USA so our plans target the causes yours doesnt end of story
