the homeless problem in the united states is illegal and could be solved if they would only follow the mandate provided by the mckinney-vento act and the opening doors program which states that the homeless are to be put in permanent and supportive housing.we have families living in cars,in the woods,anywhere the police cant find them.obviously their are varied opinions on what we should do with the homeless but it comes down to what kind of america do you want to leave the next generation?
The problem is many of the 'homeless' people especially in big cities like San Francisco aren't there because they're legitimately down on their luck, they live that way because they want to - they might be alcoholics or junkies who want to just sit and get drunk/high all day. Trivia - in San Fransisco, a person who panhandles year round can make the equivalent of 8 dollars an hour - and that's tax free money
