Oh, don't flatter yourself, that too has been posted many-many times, even the name Sanders has come up also :) Actually every conceivable Impeachment scenario has been wore out here. I think my fav is the one where he should be Impeached because he is a wife beater!

You under estimate your fellow campers, if anything, they are creative and real busy bloggers :)

So we all better stock up before the prices go sky high. Hey, will this have an adverse effect on Trump's voting base?:confusion:

The Apple iPhone shows that Trump is misreading trade deficits and what they mean

    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/19/trump-is-wrong-on-tariffs-and-trade-just-look-at-his-iphone.html

"President Donald Trump's threat to impose steep tariffs on Chinese exports to the U.S. would probably inflict a lot more harm on American consumers than it would on China.

To see why, you have to understand how Trump's policy apparently misreads the reasons the U.S. runs a trade deficit in the first place.

"Last year, we lost $500 billion on trade with China," Trump said, erroneously, at a March 23 news conference. "We can't let that happen."

To begin with, Trump's math is off — by more than $100 billion.

A trade deficit occurs when the value of imports is greater than the value of exports, in terms of both goods and services.

Last year, the U.S. imported roughly $505 billion of Chinese goods and shipped about $130 billion back, a difference of around $375 billion.

And Chinese-made products like his iPhone, for example, represent a big part of that deficit, even though many of its most valuable parts come from other trading partners."

Do you believe a $375 billion trade deficit is a good thing?

What I know is, based on his comments, Don is misreading what a trade deficit means. His interpretation that a deficit means we are somehow "losing" is abjectly false.

What I know is whether it is $500 billion or $375 billion, it is a very large trade deficit which is hurting us.

If you don't think $375 billion is sufficiently large to hurt us, how large does it have to be?

Do you have a problem with a prez setting policy on something as consequential as trade without a fundamental understanding of what a trade deficit represents?

I have a problem with a $375 billion trade deficit and the unwillingness to admit it is a problem.

Yes I wish Trump would quit exaggerating or whatever he is doing, but $375 billion is still a problem
