The New Beaujolais has arrived! Or in the original French: "Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!" I will try to get it today. https://www.intowine.com/beaujolais2.html
I have just crossed the River Rhine on my way back from France, with two cases of Beaujolais Nouveau. Two different sorts. Here now I quote from the label of the one sort: Le Père La Grolle 2022 Taverne Bois Sans Soif Le Grigou Beaujolais Nouveau Appellation Beaujolais Controlée Quinicé-en-Beaujolais France
And we have enjoyed our Beaujolais Nouveau together with this Alsatian pâté. Again I quote from the label: Metzger Muller Maîtres Charcutiers d' Alsace 67 117 Ittenheim France à consommer jusq'au: 09/12/22
My question: Did anybody of you find any Beaujolais Nouveau in the place where you live? Time was when in German supermarkets there where whole mountains of cases with Beaujolais Nouveau placed prominently in the entrance sections year after year. But from year to year these mountains have got smaller. Last year shop assistants in the wine sections had not even heard the name "Beaujolais Nouveau." So this year I did not want to waste my time with German supermarkets. So I crossed the River Rhine and went to France right away. To my surprise even there the usual mountain of Beaujolais Nouveau cases was missing. There were just a few cases in a more or less hidden place. What is your experience?

Here is a question to all who know about the Beaujolais Nouveau or are interested in it: Have you ever come across a white Beaujolais Nouveau? I know there is red and rosé - but white? It would certainly be possible to produce a white Beaujolais. Maybe it just isn't done - or it is done, but hardly anybody knows about it.
Tonight I had a Beaujolais Nouveau with my Shrimp Omelette. They agreed very well with each other. https://rasamalaysia.com/shrimp-omelette/
My in-laws are coming over this weekend so I need to go pick up a bottle. The last time they came for dinner they brought a bottle of Beaujolais that I found...quite agreeable. So I want to return the favor.
