When you hear actors play Hitler, he is always screaming. Hitler coveted this image. He was purposeful in speaking and his yelling was part of his propaganda
A recording of him was found in Finland. This is how he sounded talking to the people when not yelling.

This video explains how it happened to be recorded and how Hitler was promised it would be destroyed yet it survived his death.

That is because that was the most dramatic part of his speeches.

In fact, he normally started them all the same way. At first, speaking very softly and quietly, often haltingly. He would do this for 5-10 minutes, only gradually increasing in volume and pace until it was the almost frantic style that most are familiar with.

And in general, in the early parts he would talk about whatever problems there were, then the passionate style would come in as he described how he and his party would solve all the problems he had described at the start.

They are hard to find, but I have seen entire 30-45 minute clips of his speeches. And the first times I was amazed at the start, as it was so unlike the speeches he was famous for. But over time he would ramp up the pace and emotion, and it was a very effective style. And that is what is remembered, and it was highly effective.

The early parts would suck people in, as he would be quiet and soft, and they had to listen closely. But the latter parts gave all the "news reel clips" that he was most famous for. Where he let all of his passion and anger out for all to clearly hear.

I think it often surprises people to know how many adapted their oratory style to make it their own. Abraham Lincoln is known for having a "high and reedy" voice. But is what is less well known is that in that era, his orations were amazingly short. Where most political speeches of the era would go on literally for 1-3 hours, he would take the stage, give a speech, and be done in 5-15 minutes.

Former Secretary of State Edward Everett opened the honors at Gettysburg with a speech that went on for over 2 hours. But it is completely forgotten, because the simple one that President Lincoln followed it with lasted only 2 minutes, and said so much more in much less time.
