Iran has breached the limit on its stockpile of low-enriched uranium set under a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, a watchdog has confirmed.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said its inspectors had verified the cap had been exceeded.

Iran said it was responding to sanctions reinstated by Trump when he abandoned the deal.

The White House on Monday issued a warning to Iran after the country announced it surpassed limits on enriched uranium. The White House has nothing to say on the matter. Thanks to Trump, the U.S. is no longer a part of the agreement Iran breached.

This is a matter for the signatories of the agreement -- Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and China -- to handle, along with the IAEA. The U.S. is out of the picture. Trump made sure of that.

When asked by reporters, Trump said he had nothing to say. That's a first.

Trump seems to have a completely different view when it comes to North Korea and his friend, the communist dictator, Kim Jong Un.

The Times described it in this way. "A real idea has been taking shape inside the Trump administration that officials hope might create a foundation for a new round of negotiations.

"The concept would amount to a nuclear freeze, one that essentially enshrines the status quo, and tacitly accepts the North as a nuclear power, something administration officials have often said they would never stand for.

"It falls far short of Mr. Trump’s initial vow 30 months ago to solve the North Korea nuclear problem, but it might provide him with a retort to campaign-season critics who say the North Korean dictator has been playing the American president brilliantly by giving him the visuals he craves while holding back on real concessions."

The Times added, "While the approach could stop that arsenal from growing, it would not, at least in the near future, dismantle any existing weapons, variously estimated at 20 to 60. Nor would it limit the North’s missile capability."

National Security Adviser John Bolton disagreed with the Times article.

"I read this NYT story with curiosity," Bolton tweeted. "Neither the NSC staff nor I have discussed or heard of any desire to 'settle for a nuclear freeze by NK.' This was a reprehensible attempt by someone to box in the President. There should be consequences."

Bolton does not say the article is false. Also, Bolton was not with Trump when he went to North Korea to chat with the communist dictator. Bolton was in Mongolia. Honest, I did not make that up.

Although many would argue Trump would not be so stupid as to allow North Korea to keep its weapons just so he could finally make a deal with his chum, Bolton's non-denial denial would indicate such a step is being nurtured in Trump's "great mind," as he puts it..

The Times article was yesterday. The White House has not reacted to it, neither has Trump.

These sources helped in this report: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/30/world/asia/trump-kim-north-korea-negotiations.html, https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-48784786, https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...ns-iran-over-breach-of-enriched-uranium-limit, https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/bolton-nkorea-nuclear-freeze/2019/07/01/id/922768/

Not surprised the haters do not see the big picture with the US, NK and China. NK was given up by China as part of the deal that stopped Trump from crushing China economy with more tariffs. It was the price Trump enacted along with promise by China of more AG purchases. Thus the visit to NK by Xi.

The treaty with Iran ended essentially when Trump won. The difference between Iran and NK is that we have a lot more leverage over NK than we do with Iran. NK is dependent upon China, which we have little to not incentive to placate. Iran has no reason to placate us, and the other signatories to that stupid deal have been shown to be nothing more than a bit of icing on the cake.

Without the US, all those other countries who signed onto that agreement just have to do as they're told when Iran tells them to bend over and take it up the tailpipe like the cucks they are.

There is no paradox if you understand the basic disagreements we have with each other. NK is far easier to placate than the Iranians because they do have a legitimate gripe against us. The Iranians who have a legitimate gripe against us aren't in power because we helped depose the shah back in 79 thanks to that idiot Carter.

That does not make sense. China gave up on NK and so the American President goes to NK, making a complete fool of himself?

    Your post is really weird.

Trump's international deals are becoming obvious -- provide shiny objects for his base. Unfortunately, short term thinking like that has consequences.

Trump backs out of the Iran deal, imposes more sanctions, and is upset when Iran breaks a non-deal. Now Trump wants to make another deal with Iran and is dismissed by Iran and the other signatories. America is out.

Trump backs out of TPP and China becomes the supreme economic and political power in the Pacific. Trump says he wants back in and everyone says no thanks. America is odd man out again.

MEXICO WILL PAY FOR THE WALL! That generates huge chants at all Trump rallies. The shouting shakes the rafters. So where are the truckloads of pesos to pay for the wall? Another shiny object is taken from the base.

The United States won't stand for a nuclear North Korea? Well, maybe a little bit. Just for my pal Kim. Shiny object down the dumper along with American credibility.

Man does this guy know how to do deals!

Sandy is jumping around again. You should break your hate Trump rants into two separate threads. Double your fun with no extra keystrokes.

Let's just take the first half fo your tirade.

Was the US the only signatory to the Iran deal? If Iran was sincere would they not still abide to show the rest of the world they are sincere.? Apparently, Iran says screw you to Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and China -- to handle, along with the IAEA.

Tell me, what was stupid about the nuclear deal with Iran.

The agreement permanently barred Iran from making a nuke. That was the sole purpose of the agreement. Even Trump had to agree with the IAEA that Iran was in full compliance with the agreement when he removed the U.S. He said Iran was breaking the spirit of the deal, which was rhetorical nonsense. Trump withdrew the U.S. because the agreement was signed by Obama.

So, I'm curious, why was the deal stupid?.

Yup, and, thanks to Trump, the agreement is now without the US. Trump has replaced a working agreement with harsh language, threats, and sanctions.

Which, of course, hasn't worked. Thus the situation we now find ourselves in.

I warned a year ago that Iran would likely do exactly what Trump did, remove itself from the JCPOA.

    Good job, Mr. President.

I didn't think you would be able to explain your strange post.

Again, a Trump fan makes an accusation without explaining himself and without substantiation. Tell me, what did I get wrong in the OP.

    Don't say everything. That's a cop out.

    Watch. He will cop out.

As for Iran, Trump, who talks or tweets about the most inconsequential things, says he has "No message to Iran."

The U.S. and Obama were the main drivers of the JCPOA. Without the U.S. the agreement became irrelevant, although for the past year Iran and the other signatories tried to hold it together.

Iran was in compliance with the agreement. Trump was forced to admit that. But suddenly, Trump pulls out and nails Iran with harsh economic sanctions. In terms of the agreement, Iran had done nothing wrong, but she is suddenly being punished by Trump anyway.

That is why Trump's abandonment of the agreement is so important. It was a serious mistake, and it is why Trump "has no message to Iran." He just wants the problem to go away.

    It won't.

Trump made history recently when he came to Kim.

Neville Chamberlain made history when he came to Hitler in Munich, Germany, in 1938.

The result of Chamberlain's meeting was the most catastrophic war in the history of mankind.

That is what happens when democracies bow down to dictators.

I guess that tells the europeans exactly how little they matter in the greater scheme of things - they don't matter at all.

    Have Trump's fans quit already?

Once again, they are totally incapable of defending Trump. That says a lot, but they are incapable of understanding the reasons for their impotence. Remarkably, they stay loyal, anyway. They don't care what Trump does or doesn't do.

    That is a paradox, too.

Why do you keep claiming that? You know its not true. There was no full proof verification regimen to keep the Iranians from violating the agreement and no real method of enforcements that would hurt Iran.

A real agreement would've mean draconian unannounced on site inspections by the U.S. and PREAPPROVED air strikes allowed by the U .S. and or its allies in case the agreement was broken in any way.

I am sure you are aware that obama conveniently never had this agreement ratified in Congress. There never was a deal so time to move on to hate of something else orange man bad.

I don't even like Trump as I've proven with my thread calling for the end of his presidency...but your obsession with him as indicated by the DOZENS of threads you started (which all say roughly the same thing) are ridiculous.

I appreciate your courage, but that is hardly the point.

The U.S. and the U.S. President were the main drivers of the agreement.

Another U.S. President withdrew from the agreement and immediately punished Iran for being in compliance with the agreement.

The agreement permanently barred Iran from making a nuke. Now Iran is following Trump's example and is in breach of the agreement.

In the meantime, Trump is willing to allow North Korea to have her nukes, and may have abandoned denuclearization. Neither the White House nor Trump have challenged the Times article that was written two days ago.

    That is the point.

Yeah well, that's how the cookie crumbles. If Hillary had won, maybe she would have done things differently. The way these things work here is that the President is replaced every 4 or 8 years. Once that happens, those agreements might require a renegotiation.

    Nothing changes but the changes.

oh, and the europeans still mean nothing. They are like training wheels while competing in the tour de france.

And that is relevant how? Do you know the difference between a treaty and an agreement?

Here is what is relevant. You are incapable of defending Trump. You bring up trivia.

    And lies.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a figment of my imagination. The P5+1 and Iran never signed the agreement, and Trump never withdrew from the JCPOA.

Do you realize how ridiculous that is?

Patience, Sandy, he is a Trump fan. That says a lot as it relates to his intellectual level.

You continually post stuff like this

The agreement permanently barred Iran from making a nuke.

. with such regularity that I'm thinking it is a cut and paste job.

Well gee.... they've already told everybody else that they're going to ignore the deal.

And you want to know what was so bad about the deal? Seems to me, you don't really understand how these things work. Iran made a deal with countries other than us. Iran is now telling them to piss off.

Personally, I don't care about Iran. They'll develop those weapons with or without a deal. We don't need a deal with those types of "people". we just need to let them know that if they use them, it will be the end of Iran as anything other than a radioactive death trap.

I guess we just have a different way of looking at this. I know they'll develop nuclear weapons, same as I knew NK would develop them.

All we can do is let everybody know that MAD is how things work. This doesn't require a written agreement, and it certainly doesn't require an ineffectual neutered EU. Just everybody knows, if they mess with us, we turn their sand into glass.

    That's the deal.
