Trump is untouchable. That is not a compliment. It is a statement. It is not because of any positive traits, but only because of blind loyalty, weak excuses, a sensationalist media, and the idiocy and hypocrisy of both the Republicans and Democrats. Let's begin with the blind loyalty; if you've been on the internet for a while, you will see that many of the loud and proud Trump supporters are brash, hypocritical, and unwilling to believe anything good about anyone who doesn't fully support their view. I was scanning through Flip-board this morning, and I saw a news article with a title like 'Trump immigration ban causes chaos'. Most of the comments were filled with people saying 'fake news' or 'liberal elites at it again'. I looked through the article, and it seemed pretty trustworthy. Sources were credited, and there were pictures and videos that seemed like they were real. By reading it, you could tell the author had worked on it for a decent amount of time. Now, look back at the comments, and you see a few debates. A Trump supporter would say something like 'Obama did it but no one commented on that' and a liberal would reply 'But Obama did it differently, and Trump banned it in countries where...' Now when you look more into the details, you see a ton of people citing sources like Breitbart and Infowars, the kind of stuff that promotes conspiracy theories that portray certain groups of people as being evil. It was vicious, rage-filled, reactionary opinion articles with the occasional racist undertone. Not fake, but twisted facts and out-of-context quotes and pictures. This is partisanship at it's worst. The stuff that will make people blindly follow someone, the stuff that discredits all other sources. This easily benefits Trump, because it makes people unwilling to believe anything that doesn't fit their view. This exists on both sides, of course, but I only mention the Republican side of it because it's become a norm for the Republicans, thanks to the Trump Campaign. Then we have the weak excuses. Now, this is something that exists all over the political spectrum, but works-extra well for Trump because of the whole blind loyalty thing. Trump has taken weak political excuses to the next level, and, again, his loud and proud supporters will believe every word of it. Let's start with the conspiracy theory that Trump would've won the popular vote by a landslide if it weren't for mass voter fraud. That, according to Trump, means that at least three million people voted illegally. He made this claim without the slightest bit of credible evidence. I kid you not. I've looked at everything, and every source that he cited as agreeing with him said that Trump lied. i haven't found any witnesses, and even Paul Ryan called Trump's claim ludicrous. If this were true in the slightest, it would be the most massive, widespread electoral scandal in history. But there is no proof. It is probably the weakest excuse for losing the popular vote, but, sadly, one that many Americans believe. It has become so easy for Trump to lie, that he could get away with just about anything. Bill and Hillary make one wrong move, Trump supporters blast them to the ground. Trump does something, his supporters will defend him without a second thought. Politicians have been making stupid excuses since the beginning, but Trump's excuses are sometimes just straight up conspiracy theories. Speaking of conspiracy theories, let's shift this to the consequences of our sensationalist media. Before Trump, the media of both sides loved to rip on politicians and spread rumors. it wasn't too much of a problem. It was one of the cons of a media that had a lot of good traits. Sure, it wasn't the best, but too many rumors is better than none at all. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. But once Trump started gaining momentum... Then it started. The rumors that usually were acknowledged or mentioned on the side or in National Enquirer articles suddenly became mainstream. Trump easily took advantage of this. Spreading conspiracy theories, such as the one where a NATIONAL ENQUIRER article showed a photo of Ted Cruz's father with Lee Harvey Oswald, which prompted Trump to make the rumor into a political issue. It was a final blow to the Cruz Campaign. It could have been one of the factors that gave Trump the nomination. He turned an obscure conspiracy theory into a political victory. Trump surrounded himself with sensationalism, telling unproven lies as a defense mechanism. But, if there's anyone to blame for the Trump victory, it isn't biased 'news' sites, last-ditch political strategists, conspiracy theorists, or spineless journalists. It's the short-sighted, idiotic greedy hypocrites who use the disastrous two-party system for their advantage, and the blind partisans that follow them. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Debbie Wassermann Schultz and Harry Reid. The Trumpeters and Tea Party-ists. The Social Justice Warriors and the Buzzfeeders. Those who claim to fight the establishment, but are the tools the establishment uses to stay in power. The unwillingness to admit defeat or wrongdoing, the unwillingness to be open-minded or bipartisan. Those who vote party lines and nothing more. Those who, instead of voting for someone who seems more trustworthy, or at least more mentally stable, will vote for whoever happens to be the nominee. Trump easily took advantage of this system, by first appealing to party loyalists by sticking to party views and spitting out the bottom line, and by pressuring the reluctant Republican voters with the rhetoric that was used by partisans for so many years; the other party is the worst thing that could happen to America. The lie that is told by both parties, that there is nothing worse than a Democrat/Republican in the White House. These ideas are what brought Trump to power. Let's hope that they don't keep him there.

Actually, the main reason he won is probably because the Electoral College still exists, an electoral system that desperately needs to be reformed or abolished.

And, to the Trumpeters who are going to say 'he won get over it,' or something like that, I hope you understand that these are problems that need to be fixed, and I am simply acknowledging the consequences of such problems, so relax.

It might be very good, for all I know.

But in this age packaging is important. If you make your text easy to read, more people will read it. Sad, perhaps, but true.
