i was looking at a picture of steven spurrier in an old sports illustrated and he was blowing up in clowney's face,it made me say out loud i wish he would blow up in my face,i wouldnt tolerate it as a player or anyone else.steven spurrier,who has always been listed in the tom coughlin cry baby level,has never been impressive to me so i decided to look up his overall coaching record,i think you will find just like me,he is overblown and part of the gator propaganda machine.lets take a look.... overall wins and losses-254 wins versus 100 losses duke-20 wins-13 losses,average,at best florida-122 wins-27 losses,very good job,we just dont know how south carolina-77 wins,39 losses,very average,a struggle tampa bay bandits-35 wins,21 losses,again,very average at best by the way,i looked up his legendary owning of the georgia buuldogs,and yes they were successful in his tenure at florida,going 11-1 against the bulldogs,but at south carolina its been a different story,where the gamecocks are a poultry 4-5 against the georgia bulldogs. this information was obtained at different websites so its content is deemed reliable but not garunteed.
Spurrier is loud mouthed and arrogant, but it's silly to argue that he hasn't been a very successful football coach, especially at the collegiate level. Having a winning record at Duke is better than "average". You'd probably like him better if he coached your favorite team.
