"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall never pass away" Jesus said. He was so right. His words are still here today, in so many languages.

"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" Jesus said (John 14:6)

Well, lets see, a couple thousand years in a world that has had people for about a million years, that is lets see... 0,002%! We wont even mentiona the millions of years before that.

Pretty small slice of forever, so far.

Then too, the claim that "jesus" ever actually said any of the things written in his name is specious at best.

oh, the koran and the book of mormon are spreading all over the place too.

Someone said here in this thread something about the message of Jesus and that of another prophet.

“Jesus’ message was skimpy. Elijah brought more to the table”.

Elijah didn’t have much of a message. His goal was to bring about the downfall of Ahab’s and Jezebel’s tyranny in Israel.

Jesus said some of the most amazing and intriguing things ever said. In the Sermon on the Mount alone, there are things that no other prophet or philosopher has said or could have said.

Things about loving people even when they are not friendly to you, about not showing off your generosity when you help poor people, doing your part and trusting in God’s provision, and not be obsessed about everyday needs. That’s not “skimpy”. That’s heavy stuff, it’s not light, abstract philosophy lectured from an ivory tower. Jesus lived what he said.

I just posted something about the Sermon on the Mount. You think some theologian or fisherman would have been so intelligent and so profound to come up with those teachings in the Sermon on the Mount? I doubt it. Even other things said by Jesus, nobody could have just invented that. It's too unconventional, even for those times.

In regard to other sacred books all over the world, the Bible today is translated in almost every language and dialect and for the last one hundred years or so, it wasn't spread by war or imposed. In the last one hundred years it was going everywhere through missionary work and most people in other cultures who became Christians in this period, did so out of their own conviction and choice. Even today, many are believing in Christ in other parts of the world because they want to and because they choose to. In fact, many of them risk their lives when they do that, because they can be persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ, especially in countries where Islam is the predominant religion. It's somewhat different in reality from what the liberal media usually tells you about Christianity in other parts of the world.

    Lol, like what?

If you think Jesus was the first philosopher to do this or the last, you're terribly, wretchedly wrong.

::Sigh:: as a witness, I say that Jesus did die and he lives in the spirit as all who parttake in the kingdom of God. When you accept Jesus into your heart and claim him as your savior you are washed clean of all your sins when you die. Shame that some only want to believe in THE DYING FLESH and has believed Satan lies and speak darkness, but God has said in your day of calamity when the FLESH THAT you so much believed in and pUT your faith in departs he shall have your spirit in diversion for you did not believe in him but are of the house of satan who believed in SELF who believed in the things that are not eternal.

Actually, Jesus basically duplicated the whole 1Kings' tale of Elijah as found in the Old Testament, adding only the opportunity for the Jews to try and kill him, and discover that Elijah(returned)=Christ was immortal:

They both did the same miracles, which was traditional supposed to identify Elijah when would come back.

Both Elijah and Jesus raised the dead

Both Elijah and Jesus were immortal.

Both Elijah and Jesus disappeared from the foot of a mountain.

Both Elijah and Jesus ascended into Heaven before witnesses.

Both Elijah and Jesus troubled Israel.

Both Elijah and Jesus were hunted down by the Jewish authorities.

Both Elijah and Jesus hid in a cave/tomb.

Both Elijah and Jesus pondered in the wilderness 40 days.

Both Elijah and Jesus walked on the water.

Both wrote letters to people on Earth after they had ascended.

Both appointed a successor, Elisha by Elijah, and Peter, by Christ.

Both were hunted by the Jewish authorities

Both gave a successor the power to raise the dead

Both gave a successor a symbolic authority, the cloak to one, the keys to the other.

Both asked that the this "cup" be taken from them.

Both are said to have had miraculous births.

Both multiplied the meal for many people they feed in the crowd

Both destroyed the pagan worshippers and priests, one Baal, the other, the Pantheon of Rome.

Both were promised faithfulness three times, Elisha in the former and Peter, in the latter.

Care to tell us what you witnessed? The birth? Resurrection? Just what makes you a witness? Belief in a book?

Is that so? Jesus was not a philosopher, first of all. Tell me of any other philosopher or religious leader who said that God is a God of love, not to hate even your enemies, and who prayed for those who hated him.
Jesus Christ is the first one who said and did those things.

Let's see... the second and third query about not hating your enemies is covered by the Egyptian Instruction of Amenemope which stated:

"Row that we may ferry the evil man away,
    For we will not act according to his evil nature;
Lift him up, give him your hand,
    And leave him <in> the hands of god;
Fill his gut with your own food
That he may be sated and ashamed.
Something else of value in the heart of God
Is to stop and think before speaking."

This was written more than 1,000 years before Christ. As for the first query, pretty sure the Jews covered that in the Tanakh.

Well........if Pastor Rick is correct that Rabbi Jesus/Yehoshua stood to his feet back in 1995.....and is in the process of taking over......I guess that would make it something of a current event!!!!!??

Do you believe that Rabbi Jesus/Yehoshua may have stood to his feet in 1995?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I personally am wide open to the possibility of this amazing detail of this visionary dream being completely true. There is a verse in Hosea I think that fits well with something BIG happening 2000 years from the conception and birth of Rabbi Jesus/Yehoshua...that incidentally has been estimated to have been as early as 6 B. C. E. to 4 B. C. E????!!!

Jesus also said that people have to hate their families and that they should leave them. He said that he came to set one against the other. He was a schizo.
