The runway is getting clearer, but the U.S. economy still isn’t assured of a soft landing

    Key Points
    • The U.S. economy can take another win with a small “W” as it looks to navigate through what had been the highest inflation level in more than 40 years.
    • Despite a high level of anxiety heading into the Labor Department’s nonfarm payrolls report, the details were fairly benign.
    • Still, the solid report couldn’t dispense the lingering feeling that the economy isn’t out of the woods yet.
    • Key to whether the so-called landing is soft or hard will be the consumer, which collectively accounts for nearly 70% of all U.S. economic activity and has been pressured by inflation.

    ...
We may come out of the covid pandemic shutdowns and inflation and recover without a recession.
That would be good news and a good job by the fed res if that indeed ends up happening.

Also, it appears that wages are also increasing at a rate above current inflation.

    ...
    Are wages increasing?

Average hourly earnings rose 12 cents to $34.10, keeping the yearly increase at 4%, down from a high of 5.9% last year. That’s good news for a Federal Reserve seeking to slow increases that are feeding into inflation. Fed officials would like to see wage growth ease to 3.5% to align with their 2% overall inflation goal. Wage growth topped 5% last year amid severe COVID-related labor shortages.

The economy is variable. It has booms and busts. Sure there will be a future recession. When and how bad are a matter of opinion and speculation.

Don’t expect any responses from the MAGA doom and gloom merchants. They WANT the economy to tank so they can blame it on Joe.
If you get any response, it will only be to find some way to say this is bad news.

    Yes? And?
Of course there will be a recession someday.
This thread is about not getting into one after the pandemic induced inflation and the fight to bring down inflation.

    No responses yet.
I guess, there's nothing out of fox lies on what to say how this news is bad.

Although, this is not about Biden. This is how the fed handled slowing inflation without stifling the economy into recession.

MAGA is ok with the entire country (and world) failing if they don't get their way. You wonder why they defend Agent Orange??!!

Biden’s poll numbers are lower than Carter’s, and do you know why? It’s the economy, stupid.

Nice deflection from my accurate assessment.
The economy is recovering from covid and the Trump Admin's mishandling of it. That red wave hasn't worked since Putin installed his Orange Puppet.

Still, you post is just a deflection from MAGA wanting the country to fail unless they get their way. Some news? They won't. Red trickle....

Trump is only interested in saving himself. That said, Bidens biggest issue is the inflation, that I agree. I don't blame him for it,.but he is stick with it. Trump nor anyone else is going to lower prices, many companies took advantage of the inflation, and none of them have any intention of lowering their profits.

Democratic is a label communists often use to describe their government.

Of course not, the cost of doing business mirrors the inflation.

It is already great…and the MAGAts are doing nothing to increase that greatness…and a lot to detract from it…

‘Greatness’ is a measurement of how you are perceived by others. Ask yourself how the rest of the world perceived the US during the period between Jan 2017 and Jan 2021…?

Reread the first post of mine that hit the mark that compelled you to quote it then deflect and flail.
