America, with all its "USA! USA! USA!", was revealed to be nothing more than a paper Tiger. Tiger was 0-3-1 this year, and the rest of the team fell apart like a cheap suite. They were up 10-6 going into match play, and lost 8 and a half matches to lose 14 to 14 and a half. Tiger, like the republicans are not a team players. Their selfishness and arrogance comes back to haunt this country.
What a bunch of bull crap. Europe played better when they needed to. That's it. Why don't you keep your political nonsense out of the Off Topic Chat section. Or does everybody ignore your crap elsewhere too?
So is it the embarrassment of the American collapse that has your panties in a wad, or the writing on the wall for the election? When there's no denying the fact that the U.S. golfers aren't "the greatest in the world", it should be a wake up call. Kinda like the one McIlroy got, telling him to wake up and smell the coffee. Hey, that should work for the republicans too. Snicker, snicker.
the behaviour of the american crowd was abhorrent and an embarrassment to golf, they deserved to have their team lose for their despicable behaviour.
Different cultures. We'd be embarrassed by that, but they are ok with crass. It was fun to watch, but I never see how in situations like that, they say someone won. They were barely a point apart and clearly they are equally good. If they played again tomorrow, the yanks might win. Sport ....entirely pointless.
If you were just listening to it, you'd think it was a college football game. The PGA has a tournament in Arizona where the sloppy drunks sound like that too. You know Arizona is known for having a refined population. They bring their guns to the golf course.
As an avid golfer I am my alliance is torn but America is my home now, so I'm mostly sad. Would have liked them see to them take it back. It was an amazing comeback though. Anyone else on here play? I'm a scratch golfer (or at least was when I used to play more). Its really relaxing one of my favorite things to do. Completely agreed. Football is the worst. I used to like going to matches when I was younger but sometimes its downright dangerous, ridiculous at best. Talk about embarrassment.
I don't have time to golf, being a female, but the house backs onto the golf course and I will get around to it someday. You must be very good. My brother gets to 6 or 7 and sometimes lower but it depends how much time he has to play and keep his game up. Of course there are some who try to keep the handicap higher than it should be, in order to gain advantage, but that is not in the spirit of the game.
Yeah I don't like playing with people like that, especially when they do it to try to win money. I probably get a lot more time to practice over here. California has pretty good weather all year long, also generally the style of the course is a little different, I think its easier. Its fun if you have the time to play a lot otherwise it can be frustrating.
I'm not a golf fan (I'm more of the "it's a good walk, spoiled" school of thought!), however the final few hours were truly riveting. As for American football, I could not imagine a more tedious game which takes three hours to complete, stops every 10 minutes for a chat (and for the fat guys to catch their breath), needs a half-time rock concert to keep the spectators from atrophying...
