We lost 2 great men over the weekend, these are 2 men that ALL Americans should mourn for.

Both men rec'd the highest civilian honor that you can receive.

We will mourn these great men, but we can tell them it is time to go home and a job well done.

Sad that they had to go during these times. They both got to see a black president, but missed a probable black female VP....

I don't know a lot about the Reverend Vivian, but I'll try to read up a bit this week...

Two people I never heard of. I personally think black athletes and actors did far more for race relations than people I never heard of. You will notice that I used the past tense in the previous sentence. The new crop of black athletes and actors are doing the exact opposite and destroying race relations.

What's the betting line on who's next to leave after her?

Rich black athletes need to share more of their white-bestowed salaries. Because racial equality.

Sotomayor is a brittle diabetic. She was actually expected to leave before Ginsberg.

Well the gentlemen who passed arent media obsessed so it makes sense you may not know them. But there were key people who peacefully brought good change...changed the world ...and it took huge courage.

Thanks for mentioning the Reverend Cordy Tindell Vivian. Sadly, I had never heard of him until your post. I did some additional reading about him. He must have been one of the best of men.

Civil rights icon and Democratic race pimp John Lewis kicked the bucket over the weekend. Almost all of the Sunday Atlanta Urinal and Constipation was John Lewis, John Lewis, and more John Lewis. What a great man he was. A giant of the civil rights movement and all of that bullshit.

He was not a giant of the civil rights movement. He was a minor player who managed to parlay getting his head knocked in by a southern Democrat after walking across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma Alabama into a major legend. Then, to promote the legend, he relived it every year by walking across the bridge, minus getting his head knocked in. The legend grew and other people joined him in the yearly walk.

If Lewis mattered in any way to democrats he would have had three funerals, a horse drawn carriage to carry his corpse, a GoFundMe account set up, a scholarship dedicated in his honor, streets named after him, and of course the obligatory looting and rioting, which seem to be a time honored tradition whether they die of natural causes or by the hands of white cops.

I lost all respect I might have had for John Lewis when he lied about being called n....r 13 times while he and his buddies in the Congressional African Caucus walked through a Tea Party protest trolling for racist slurs to prove that the Tea Party was racist. What Lewis hope to do was recreate what happened in the 60’s. He hoped a white republican would attack him.

Alas, they weren’t any incidents, there was nothing, not one single problem. So what did he do? He made up a story Yes, civil rights race baiting legend John Lewis lied and claimed he was called n....r 13 times. There were countless videos that day and none of them supported Lewis’s lies. Andrew Breitbart offered $50,000 to anyone who could produce a video to support Lewis’s lies. NO ONE came forward.

Like most of the Democrats, he refused to accept the results of the 2016 presidential election and boycotted the inauguration. He also boycotted all of Trump’s State of the Union addresses.

He was a bitter old man. He sold out to the party that he protested against. He himself became a racist to keep a fight alive that had died long ago. His last and most memorable act was delivering Biden the democratic nomination. Though it was only a few months ago, the world has forgotten that after the Biden campaign was broke and after getting trounced in Nevada, Iowa, and then NH, it was Lewis who delivered the black vote in the south that propelled Biden ahead of everyone.

My assumption is Lewis sold his soul to the Devil for a Biden nomination and the Devil collected on the deal over the weekend.

One doesn’t have to think that hard to imagine if George Floyd survived would he have been elected to Congress?

For that reason alone I am not sorry to see him go. He would have hung on to that seat till the end of eternity. And, by the looks of things, he just might have done that.

    Atlanta Weeps but I’m not.

Lewis ended up another grievance industry race hustler. It didn't seem to bother him that civil rights were trampled during the Russia hoax that Durham is investigating.
