I'm curious to know which is the perception of the value of money, overall with reference to the rate of exchange of a currency unit in relation with the others.

Focusing the attention on US dollar [but we could make the same reason about GBP, EUR ...] which is the best situation?

High value? Low value? Mean value?

We can discuss pro and contra of the different conditions ...

P.S. the other thread can be deleted.

We come from a period of years and years in which US$ have been very low as for exchange rate with EUR. This has helped a lot US economy in export, but it has caused serious troubles at financial level [capitals have preferred EU to US] and in imports of goods, services ...

Anyway, we have to remember that the US$ is the currency of reference and that on commodities market the US$ is the used money, so that about import of raw materials the effect of the oscillation of the US$ is not so important for Americans [while for Europeans this can have a wide effect, in fact with a low US$ we get a great advantage in importing oil, natural gas ...].

On the other hand, when the dollar was high [as soon as the EUR had introduced the US$ reached a value above 1.1], the US exports suffered, but US financial economy was running very fast.
