I'm off today so I'm channel surfing from the NFL Channel to the News.

Honest to God June 25th, a Shopping Channel with a "Halfway To Christmas Sale"

We need to force Christmas back to the pre 1967 borders of Thanksgiving.

I have long hated the overcommercialization of Christmas. All we can do is boycott business that we don't agree with. Any radio station that switches to all Christmas music too early from their regular format gets deleted from my presets.

Ho Ho Ho. Never too early to buy that cheap Chinese junk when it goes on sale.

I hate to say it but this is one time I have to agree with you. It's not about being a Christian holiday but about retailer's greed. Not a Christian myself but the I like the non commercial aspects of Christmas, that it's about peace and good will to all. We could use a lot more of that every day.

As Lewis Black once joked about Christmas: "You Christians have created a beast you just can't feed".

But we've loaded a lot of expectations and emotional needs into one day. And media keeps stacking those on with perfectly set decorated rooms that your house can never match and happy reunions that distance and death can never deliver. So we ramp up to one day a year in a frenzy of consumption.

As I told my wife just breath, relax, and just enjoy it as it comes.

I'm sorry but isn't saying Christmas now politically incorrect?
