Fox, CNN, MSNBC and all of the rest claim to bring us the news - but their brand of news is partisan propaganda and little else

I like Fox news - In my opinion, they are entertaining and, compared to the opposition, they tend to limit the lies and keep the BS low key. However, they are still a news based opinion network.

One America News is the only outlet I watch for the news - because I get the facts and not their opinion.

What news outlet do you watch when you want the facts?

I like the PBS Newshour...but my guess is you think that is not true news also.

    Am I right?

I never watched PBS, so I can't say - however, my guess is that PBS News would swing left.

I don't watch any of them.

I get my topics from here then research them on my own through multiple sources.

Not too familiar with One America News, but they don’t look to offer very balanced reporting.

    https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/one-america-news-network/

I prefer NPR news and BBC. They have slight left leans, but if you know that going in you can get really solid reporting if you listen with a critical ear.

Even PBS Newshour has a liberal bias.

Of the three national news (CBS, NBC, ABC) and the three cabal news networks (FNC, fake news CNN and MSNBC) along with the BBC and RT, PBS Newshour is the least bias.

But the problem with PBS Newshour is what they don't report or cover. This is when their liberal bias is exposed.

With the printed media there is no unbiased newspaper or news magazine.
The New York Times has printed so many fake news stories they have a website page just dedicated to retractions.

There was a time when the Christian Science Monitor was the least bias newspaper in the world. Not any more but still the least bias newspaper out there.

Fox is de facto State Media.

The median age of a primetime Fox News viewer is 68, according to Nielsen, as it is calculated to appeal to a primarily elderly clientele.

In 2012, a Fairleigh Dickinson University survey reported that Fox News viewers were less informed about current events than people who didn't follow the news at all.

I partake of no cable news outlet, but folks watch the one that comports with their ideological biases, and find it the most entertaining.

Mediabiasfactcheck is a great site if you want a snapshot of where each news source stands: left bias, left center bias, least biased, right center bias, and right bias.

Fox news shows are as close to center as I have seen in a long time. When they do debate on their news shows, they seem to give both sides equal latitude to ahine or hang themselves.

I do not watch any commentary shows. I'm unaware of any straight news shows on CNN or MSdnc.

PBS is leftist, but they're not crazy like CNN or MSNBC.

    PBS is watchable.

There are those who need media to reenforce their preconceptions.

Since a broad range of perspectives is readily available, there is no need to radically constrict one's diet, even to the point of abstaining from inconvenient facts in some cases

As your referenced article notes, "what the study did find, in statistically significant numbers, is that watching Fox News means you are less informed about current events than if you watched no news."

Sensationalist headlines such as "Watching Fox News makes you Dumber" distort the survey's finding.

It was not a study but a survey.

Today especially those on the right lie when being surveyed.

Today many gun owners will not admit that they own a gun according to Pew Research Center.

Most Trump supporters during the 2016 election campaign when polled didn't admit that they were supporting Trump so the polls all said that Hillary would win in a landslide.

1/3 who watch FNC identify as being liberal.

How many only watch one news source on cable ?

How many times when President Obama was asked when did you first find out ( fill in the blank
) and Obama replied, "Just like everyone else, on Fox News."

    Remember FNC Red Eye ?

It aired at 0-Dark Thirty during the early morning hours. It's ratings were higher than CNN day time ratings.

I seriously doubt that it was old white males in their 60's and 70's watching who was sitting in the "Leg Chair."

FNC has no news programming during prime time, just opinion and commentary programming.

I must admit that I often do online surveys and lie - I always answer "yes" to the "Do you think President Trump should be impeached" surveys - I'd love to see the idiot Democrats impeach the President

I would watch the major news networks for news. I think that Fox is full of partisan views with exceptions, and I did watch fox when Bill O'Reilly was there and true Republicans were a part of the political scene. Now you have Dobbs, Hannity, Carlson, and a few others who are almost funny with their brand. I do watch MSNBC since Trump began running for office and although they are to the left, there reporting is more accurate and their analysists are well schooled on the subject matter. They show Trump's tweets and his commentary. I am a moderate Republican and would support Jeb Bush or John Kasich.

In other words, you're a Democrat!

To be honest, I see a need for the Kasich's and Bush's to keep the party from wander too far to the right.

To be frank, I'd like to see Kasich and Bush and Romney and all of the rest of the anti-Trump crowd tarred, feathered and run out of the GOP for their lack of support for their party leader and our nations President.

I've watched PBS Newshour for decades and always thought it the best of the network news. I was impressed that while knowing that many of their long-term news anchors and correspondents were/are flaming liberals, the uninitiated had to watch carefully and a long time before they could figure that out. Unfortunately that has changed in the recent years. While still better than the other networks their liberal bias and slant has become much more pronounced and open.
