In many ways Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi made his own end, but in a lot of others, everyone from young rebels to police to the military to even the people running the oil supply conspired to degrade and ultimately overthrow Morsi.
The latest evidence is the sudden end to Egypt's crippling energy shortages, as reported by Ben Hubbard and David D. Kirkpatrick in the New York Times:

The Muslim Brotherhood and Mr. Morsi’s supporters say the sudden turnaround proves that their opponents conspired to make Mr. Morsi fail. Not only did police officers seem to disappear, but the state agencies responsible for providing electricity and ensuring gas supplies failed so fundamentally that gas lines and rolling blackouts fed widespread anger and frustration.

“This was preparing for the coup,” said Naser el-Farash, who served as the spokesman for the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade under Mr. Morsi. “Different circles in the state, from the storage facilities to the cars that transport petrol products to the gas stations, all participated in creating the crisis.”

Granted, other reporting from Al Arabiya makes clear that the energy crisis isn't exactly over.

Nonetheless, it seems apparent that organized groups put a stranglehold on an already ailing system. That organization was staggeringly deep and detailed.

An article from Mike Giglio of the Daily Beast today details to what lengths the youth rebel group called Tamarod and the Army collaborated in the time leading up to the coup:

In the days and weeks before the protests, Waleed al-Masry, a central organizer, was in regular contact with a group of retired military officers. These retired officers, Masry says, promised to protect the protesters who turned out on June 30. They said they were reaching out on behalf of the Army’s current commanders. “We didn’t ask them for help. They just offered it,” Masry says. “And we welcomed that.”

Masry and the rebels not only gained the cooperation of the army, but also of the police and the recently snubbed judicial system.

“The country’s institutions—the police, the Army, the judges—were clear from their messages in the media that they were in favor of getting rid of [Morsi]," Moheb Doss, one of Tamarod’s co-founders and main organizers, told The Beast. Then they received “individual communications between Tamarod people and state institutions.”

Finally there was the funding, both internally and externally.

The Times details how former judge Tahani el-Gebali, former adviser Shawki al-Sayed, and Naguib Sawiris, a billionaire and an outspoken foe of the Brotherhood, all pitched in cash and organizing efforts to wear at the base of the Morsi regime.

And just this week, an Al Jazeera exclusive from Emad Mekay exposed how Washington had funneled money to secular opposition groups in Egypt:

Documents obtained by the Investigative Reporting Program at UC Berkeley show the US channeled funding ... [that] ... vigorously supported activists and politicians who have fomented unrest in Egypt, after autocratic president Hosni Mubarak was ousted in a popular uprising in February 2011.

Seems like a well-organized effort to sabotage Morsi, no?

Except that Morsi's moves to consolidate power and install Sharia Law began almost as soon as he took office. His concerns, it seemed, focused more on telling women how to talk to their husbands than with rebuilding Egypt.

Those actions predate the actions of the young Tamarod agents who took to the streets, some for 16 hours a day, collecting signatures for the ouster of Morsi.

In that way, Morsi made his own end. Now he has no choice but to own it, conspiracy or not.

Well, his group was too small. A minority can't hold the adoration of a majority unless they kiss their butts well enough. Face it, ten thousand islamists can't make millions happy. If people aren't happy, hardliners get their butts stomped. This should be evident in what happened in the USA. Hardline Christians attempted to impose their rules back in the 1980's and have been suffering ever since as their numbers grow smaller.

Nobody likes hardliners of any ilk.

It was their first election. The egyptian politicians haven't learned yet that when you get elected you become the leader of all, not just those who voted for you. They fell in the old nepotism and favoritism trap.

First thing any countries should do, even before writing their constitution, is to solemny declare that the basis of their government will be the human right declaration. Then you write a constitution that respect the HRD and only after that you hold free and fair election that will result in one of two type of parliement, either a constitutional republic with limited terms for the pres, the senate and congress or a federal system with proportional representation. Vote to amend the constitution should require a 2/3 majority of seats which should in turn represent 2/3 of the population followed by a referendum one year later to give the population time to correctly educate themselve about said amendment. No amendment is valid if it goes against the HRD.

You also put in place a recall system to remove people who tries to go against the HRD and the constitution. You also restrict the armed forces to a self defense role and emergency relief, as all armed forces should be.

Finaly you remove religion from the government. They are politician not priest. The government is neutral towards all of it's constituants. This doesn't preclude individuals from practicing but religion shouldn't insert itself in matter of policy unless they are compatible with both the HRD and the constitution.

The U.S. bows :worship: to Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia wanted Morsi out. Notice the billions they are now pouring into Egypt. I would be worried if I was Israel, because the Saudis might pretend to be their friends but they are not. The country who was the closest to Morsi was Turkey, and according to their newspapers Erdogan is quite upset over what happened.

I suppose Erdo would be upset since he is a hardcore religious dude as well and the winds of change are blowing his way, too.

Face it, conservative religiots the world over are getting kicked in the teeth. Change is coming.

    Boy...you got this backwards.

Saudi Arabia EXISTS at the sufferance of the United States.

The Egyptian Military that the people of that country can't seem to stop singing the praises for...EXISTS at the sufferance of U.S. Military's Central Command or CENTCOM.

Turkey...a country that all the other European Nations such as France, Germany...etc...do not want as part of the E.U. or as well to even be part of NATO....has a very good and powerful friend that is FORCING the Europeans to include Turkey in all the various aspects and benefits that come with being included. That country is the United States.

Israel would either not exist if it were not for the United States giving GOLDA MEIR her request for American M-60 Main Battle Tanks and a vast amount of other American Weapons systems that allowed Israel during the Yom Kippur War to defeat a vastly large Soviet Supplied Arab Force attacking on all fronts.

Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Jordan attacking in mass with numerical superiority in Men, Equipment and Numbers of Weapons and Tanks were defeated by a much smaller but supplied with High Tech. American Weapons systems Israeli Military.

As well American SR-71 Recon overflights of the battle field where the SR-71 outran multiple Soviet made Antiaircraft Missiles fired upon it at the SR-71 acceding Mach 3.5 allowed the U.S. to provide Israel with real time recon data .

    Don't be fooled.

There is only ONE real player in this region of the world and whatever current U.S. Policy maybe...whether anyone there realizes it or not....so goes events.

The Saudis have been dealing with the Israelis for decades now. Not everything on the surface is reality in the middle east

There is the reality as it is told to the people of the Middle East by their Governments and then there is the ACTUAL REALITY!

The standard political stated mantra from the Saudi Royal Family is Israel BAD! Islam GOOD! Then they will give multiple millions to fund Madrassas which are basically terrorist recruiting centers as the Saudi Royalty then covertly deal with Israel upon a variety of issues both in Trade and Information.

Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Royal Family KNOWS that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that could stop the United States from using extensive CIA and FBI intell gathered upon the activities of the highest level of members of the Royal Family that if such information should ever see the day of light it would INFLAME Muslims to such a level the continued existence of the Royal Family would be placed in doubt.

As well the Saudi's have what the U.S. needs....OIL.

At the highest levels the things that both separate and gather people together or apart are the same issues for all.

    MONEY, DEFENSE, PROTECTION, MONEY.

Religion does not play a part in the slightest.

Thanks Alpha for your testimony on Saudi/Israeli/USA cooperation. It is true.

But religion does play a role. The Judaism of Esau & apostate Judah is at the base of it all.

Ivan...if you don't know I have been to the region several times and have met with all parties many times all together and although these are lower level meetings specific to constructing an agenda and parameters for larger meetings the things that such sides will not directly say in Summit style meetings are things THEY WILL ABSOLUTEY TALK ABOUT in the meetings I end up becoming a BABYSITTER for.

They at first will play games and feign indignation which I have to put up with but after the B.S. is over it all comes down to...HOW MUCH?

The main thing the propaganda does is causing tension and chaos in the people, so rulers can organize them much easier (and they did, and they do, elections 2014 are the most important elections ever, they will forse people to choose a new leader, and because many people are now more radicalised, they will stand more as one block, more solid behind this new leader, people in fear and chaos are organized easier, their organisation will happen in 2014, and they still believe they will have freedom, this mass organisation behind political leaders does not lead to their freedom, which people have hoped for when Mubarak stepped down) Talk about conspiracy plus pro and anti Morsi groups is going to cause a large group to seperate from the rest, pro and anti islam will grow in society, means more conflict, more chaos in the country. The propaganda hammered in the people's minds via television is the biggest problem for the freedom of a nation/population. We see the same going on in every country in the world today. As long as people watch television they will be deceived, mislead and their thoughts manipulated, put in fear. Exactly what is happening since y2k. Egypt is going to be the next North Korea one day over the next few years (revolts and mass organisation only mean one thing, freedom of a population is nearing it's end soon) How television has become the biggest threat to freedom (Egyptian (and all other) people should open their eyes and see what the propaganda did and does. Tv has put people in a trance)

The really sad thing is that when any country in the Middle East has in the past brought a Radical Islamic State into existence as a counter to the perception of U.S. interference...it has given power to a Religious Leadership that has for over a thousand years been using Islam as a means to control the people, the wealth and the system to which only a select few benefit.

All one has to do is look at Iran after the Shah as it became a Radical Islamic State and still to this day the Old Guard Religious Leadership has held Power and the Wealth of the country who's people right now are so desperate for democracy.

In the end it all comes down to what the NSA and CIA determines might be a security risk for Global Stability.
