Trump's wall is a waste of money, but there should be some sort of physical barrier as part of a comprehensive solution to dealing with illegals. How about a national ID card that replaces the Social Security card, modeled on the Nexus Pass? As soon as your work visa runs out, the federal database is updated and the card is no longer active.

Why would you care if I hire an illegal non citizen ? People without property or incomes have few options for survival, welfare and crime are usually at the top of the list.

You don't seem aware that this led to dictatorships across the continent and the legacy of that on the culture of the entire population that remains today. America forced South American countries to take out vast un-repayable loans to build infrastructure and mine resources making it a condition these contracts must go to American companies, paying far more than what was required therefore feeding the American economy. Any South American leaders who wouldn't agree were either overthrown or assassinated... or even invaded (Panama). Bribes were offered and only a small number of people at the top benefitted.... enter the current state of South America today. Has ****all to do with colonization

It was the IMF lending these countries money. IMF consists of 189 countries that pooled money for loans to ease the crisis these countries were having. They all defaulted on their loans, they couldn't pay back the money that was lent to them to help them out. IMF demanded they spend properly and to start using better Capitalistic economic beneficial measures to shore up their economies. They failed due to corruption and mismanagement.

These countries failed themselves despite the fact that world, or 189 countries, pooled money to loan them to ease their crisis and get them back up and functioning properly.
