Sounds nothing like Pantera - sounds more like Slayer if anything. And I disagree, the Pantara guitarist (Dimebag Darrell) was much better than that guy.
I didn't say they sound like Pantera. I said they were similar, but more extreme. I never made the comparison between the two lead guitarists for you to disagree with either. Dimebag was a bad ass guitarist. Obituary has some excellent guitar soloing too. Anyway, I never would have expected to see you posting on this subject...lol
I didn't read the OP carefully enough. I didn't know you were going for songs that were along the likes of Pantera, only heavier. The song I posted sounds nothing like Pantera, but it would make Obituary seem like child's play in comparison. I think Pantera sucked, so I don't really have much to add to this thread. Carry on.
They would have/could have been much better had DD lived. There is some of their stuff that's ok, but I mostly don't like them. I agree though that Anaal Nathrakh is pretty (*)(*)(*)(*)ing heavy.
