This week in scaring White People: Richard Sherman

A 6'3 dreaded black man went on national tv and yelled. Millions of white people that probably didn't graduate high school took to social media and proceeded to call him a thug, monke, etc. While that shouldn't be surprising, what is surprising is the media backlash against those idiots that wanted to negrofy RS, a Stanford Graduate, and all around good guy. Are white people THAT intimidated by successful black people that they will pretend to care about"class" in professional football? Notice how nobody cares about Crabtree in all of this. What do we have to move past this?

As to OP, it'll never go away and with free speech you get free insults, whether racial or not, too. Sad but true. Racism will never die, we all make pre judgements based on appearance of someone else dozens of times a day...however, the level of negativity of this incident is simply retarded.

Me, "intimidated" by Sherman? I've never met him. I don't care for him, I don't have any ties to him whatsoever. I think what he said was stupid, I think it was unnecessary and I think it inflamed even those neutral in the political community, never mind the racists. I also happen to disagree that the word "thug" is "coded racism". Since many parts of the hood celebrate the thug culture. Does that mean they celebrate "racism"?

Of all the words that could've been identified as "coded racism", thug is not one that comes to mind.

 

You seriously don't get it, man. Even in Sherman's post incident comment he said something along the lines of "How am I a thug? I graduated from Stanford and play football. How come those guys getting into fights all the time in hockey aren't being called thugs?"

I mean, if that doesn't spell it out to you, you are willfully ignorant. And 'thug culture'? What is that? Being a black person living in poverty? That's celebrated?! Who knew!

And to further my point, how often do you here a white person call a another white person 'thug', even when they clearly ARE a thug?

I mean, the evidence is out there. It's up to you whether to choose to acknowledge it or not.

I don't. To do so would be stupid. By the way a lot of those (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about it were black and most of them former players.

 

Obviously Mr. Sherman hasn't followed Hockey for any length of time. Over the years I've seen plenty of (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about thugs on skates the Old Broad Street Bullies were one of the reason I lost more than a passing interest in hockey.

 

And hockey isn't a popular sport with a lot of black people playing it either. So you don't see anyone singled out for being called a 'thug' by random talking heads on TV for having confidence in a post-game interview. Besides, even internally in hockey, those guys instigating fights are called 'goons'. When was the last time you heard 'goon' used instead of 'thug' when referring to an 'apparent' degenerate black person?

 

Because fighting itself has become ingrained in hockey. Yes, hockey's a TERRIBLE sport. The NHL's a joke of a league and that's why it gets (*)(*)(*)(*) poor ratings even in relation to the freaking MLB. That's part one. Part two is acting that way in front of a camera is bound to generate negative responses.

What we learn from interviewing 101: Say what people want to hear you say, and (*)(*)(*)(*). If he wants to act that way, he can feel free to do so in the confines of his own home.

Ripped jeans have now become a "style", you can actually buy the crap in stores.(Hint: I don't, it lacks sophistication and taste). Those living in poverty have absolutely no interest in getting out of poverty. Yes, I'd say its fairly celebrated. I'm just not one of those who celebrate it.

We call them criminals, which is demeaning enough. It just so happens that the thug culture is so prevalent, that it sticks with their community.

 

If you think that Americans should not talk about racism, then I think you are misguided.

You'll never hear a hockey player talk that way in interviews though. Only on the ice at each other.

The only guy to be an ass in interviews was avery and no team wanted him. He is out of the nhl.

Donald Brashear was normally called a goon. As was Georges Laraqe. It is just hockey lingo.

Goon used more than thug but I have used thug to describe many white players..

Nothing new, really. Thug is just the code word of the week among the right for n****r.
The right-wing pinheads running around spouting thug are merely following the latest marching orders from their media pundits.
Next week, they'll move on to some other chicken little hysterics to try and tar Hillary for a while before returning to lambast the negroes again.
They have a busy year ahead denigrating blacks and women.

Sherman makes a game winning play that sends his team to the super bowl in a violent in-your-face game. So he's a bit hyped up...
