Any survey that doesn't include women is going to be highly inaccurate.

That's more like what I'd expect when you include women in the survey.

I guarantee you that if the Democratic candidate was Sanders, that 53% would be much higher. Gays are historically progressive in their politics

Trump was pro liberal at the time when he ran celeb apprentice, and he was trying to curry favor celebs, who are liberal, on the whole.

Trump has NO core convictions, he'll be anything the circumstance or opportunity requires. Which is why he can easily switch from pro choice to pro life.

I remember Trump, round about 2004, he was on TV, and said a quick solution to end the national debt would be a 25% wealth tax on the rich. He actually said that.

Most people are one or the other, and cannot switch so easily.

The courts delivered marriage equality, not the DNC. I suspect that the poll is skewed somewhat, but it stands to reason that gays have issues other than their gayness that concern them.

 

Hey I hope you are right, we need everyone we can regardless of color, sex, gender preference, etc on our side to beat the violent and authoritarian portion of the left that is becoming so prevalent.

Personally, I just dont think its happening yet. In the long run I think people will come more and more to the right, but right now the left has successfully made a boogeyman of Trump. It’s hard to see many LGBT who see the left as such staunch allies come over to the right.

That being said, there is a chance to make me a believer in a couple months haha. I see this next election as a massive indication of the direction our country is going. Are we going to give power to the left and see them attempt this identitarian, authoritarian change to the nation or not?

I’ve seen a lot of polls claiming Trumps support with gays, blacks, Hispanics is going up. I hope its true, because as soon as they all vote as diversely as white people...dems will cease to exist in their present form. We will see in a couple months.

 

A gay rancher may be thinking more about water rules going forward than gay marriage. A gay doctor may be thinking about taxes going forward, not which bathroom a trans person gets to use.

All that the court did was to NULLIFY the evangelical's UNCONSTITUTIONAL "Defense" of Marriage Act that DISCRIMINATED against gays.

Had the extremist Republicans NOT passed DOMA there would NEVER have been any court decision throwing it OUT as UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

The courts only REACT to what is brought TO them.

Your entire post is a logical fallacy. If gay people want to marry or carry a gun, the government should not stand in their way. Currently, your party is working to deny second amendment rights as well as more of the fruits of their labor. Disagree with them all you want, but at least make an effort to understand how they feel and see them as individuals.

 

You’re right, plenty of gay people are conservative on a number of issues. So how many Openly gay candidates have the gop elected?

 

Most are still Democrats or independent, but the number of those who will be voting for Trump is growing and its not because Trump is so wonderful.
