Tired of the Hitler/Trump Comparisons

Yup. Gonna be a long four years...if he lasts that long

 

I will admit that the Trump-Hitler comparisons are tiresome and baseless. But in today's polarized politics, it doesn't surprise me none. After all, the Democrats just lost an election they thought was in the bag. They were counting their chickens before the eggs hatched.

But I would say well over half of all America have apprehensions of Trump. Quite a lot of us don't know how to take him. As for your last sentence, time and time again I have used the phrase "5th grade schoolyard bully," in describing Trump. Also using twitter "To throw his three year old temper tantrums."

But what happened happened. I am glad Clinton lost, but sad Trump won. I just wish both could have lost. The fact both of our major parties could nominate these two shows that they both have lost touch with middle America.

 

I've always hated Hitler comparisons. We have never had a need to use it and unfortunately one we might need to. The only problem is its been so diluted that no one will look twice when it is time.

 

While everyone was banging on about Trump being Hitler, Obama sent thousands of troops into Poland. The satire is writing itself these days.

Nah, it is different. obama proved to be sympathetic to Islamic extremists. I have yet to see any proof Trump is Hitler.

 

I'm pretty sure the problem with Hitler was not him sending troops to an allied nation to secure it against aggression by a foreign power.

 

I like this post. I really do. IMO, the real comparison is between those who supported Hitler and voted for his party, and those who supported Trump and voted for him. In short it is about the mindset of the their respective followers, not in the behavior of the two leaders. There is a willingness to compromise way too much, for authoritarianism , for nationalism and it is largely induced by a cult of personality rather than a series of policies or an ideology. That is where this gets scary. its not in where Trump will take this (he is too inconsistent, too stupid and too ineffective to really be scary, but the mentality and tactics that are getting rewarded and empowered by this election, will be remembered and exploited by someone much better at consolidated power and using police powers to crush institutional and popular opposition.

What this wanna-be demagogue did to gain his power, is a lesson that the wrong person will learn thoroughly in ten or 15 years from now.

 

And yet you proclaim you voted for him. Reality disconnect button needed here.

 

Why do you have to hit all seven checkmarks to be Hitler? 1-3 aren't really relevant. (One could argue that neither Hitler nor Trump really meet #3, as Hitler came from a very comfortable middle class background.)

4-6 apply to both. 7 could still happen, if we don't get our heads out of our backsides.

Here's some other things that Apply to both Hitler and Trump.

Did this person come to power because members of the political establishment jumped on their bandwagon hoping to gain politically?
9) Does this person have a cult of fanatical followers, willing to inflict violence on their political opponents?
10) Does this person advocate throwing people he doesn't like in prison without due process of law, especially his political opponents?

Now, here's the one major comparison that I think does apply.

11) Did this person come to power because a large segment of the population gave up on Democracy?

 

You make some cutsey statements put still all you have accomplished is to stir some Fecal matter around. I also do not think that Trumpeizda is a Hitler but Trump like others have used some tools of Hitler during Adolf' s rise to power. Just as Hitler knew what the basic German people who felt that they were disrespected and had their country taken away from them wanted to hear about making Germany great again Trump zoned in on the fears of Americans who have felt disrespected and had their country taken away from them.

Does that make Trump a Hitler no, of course not. Obama believes in Social Security and Medicare and weekends off fir workers and paid vacations and Workers Compensation for injured workers dies that make Obama a Socualist? Of not do you see but how many people who are not capable of rational or intelligent thought actually thing that he us a Socialist. His about the gaboomkas who believe that Obama is a Muslim?

So fir every one of you who think that Trump us a Hitler find a gaboomka whonthinkscObama is a Sicialist and see if the twonof you can get you heads screwed on right.

Why on God's green earth would you vote for hitter? You claim to have voted for Trump yet continue to bash him . I believe you voted for Obama, yet I bet you didn't say so many negative things about Obama in 8 years as president as you have about Trump before he is even sworn in . This is find odd.
