For many years in entertainment (TV/Movies) there have been outcries and issues with the overly non-black actor class which has recently become something less of an issue. Now we see regular representation as black actors enter the stage and are given equal footing. As this expands more and more black programming has been produced and we now see the opposite occurring as major movies and shows are literally all black cast with the token white person thrown in to stay PC. I am wondering what black folks think on this....or even if you do?
They aren't being given equal footing - they're often being glamorized. Criminals are nearly all white and villains are nearly never black. Black scientists, doctors, and spies are often main characters when in reality such people are rarely black.
And not to forget that 'some', even 'black' persons, will 'USE' the 'stereotypes' to their own personal 'gain' advantage.
