Toronto police say eight to 10 pedestrians have been struck by a white van in north Toronto.

Officers were called to Yonge St. and Finch Ave. East at 1:27 p.m. Monday for reports of a collision.

Police say it is too early to confirm the number of people struck and the extent of their injuries.

Yonge St. at Finch Ave. is closed and subway service has been suspended on line 1 between Sheppard Ave. and Finch Ave.

Unfortunately, until now, Barcelone, Nice, Stockholm, it always happened to be criminal attacks by jihadists. It effectively can be an accident, but I'm pessimistic. ISIS encouraged its follower to commit such kind of attacks.

You're right, it can be an accident, we have to wait. I hope every members are fine. There is only two people I know they are canadian, it's Moi621 and @DennisTate . I hope both are fine and their family too.

It's always the worst, to wait to know that all your relative are fine.

I don't hear a lot of news like that. Let's hope I'm too paranoid.

A drugged idiot. I hate those kind of people. I know many people who lost relative because of that. Even if they don't intend to kill, they're as detestable, in France, they're treated sweetly unfortunatly, when the only thing they would deserve is a rope. I hope american and canadian are wiser considering that kind of pesty idiots.

Apparently, it's an attack, not an accident. Now, it's about for what he did that.

initial reports on the accused is that he's visited websites that hate women, an admirer of an american mass killer who targeted women because he couldn't get a date/sex

It looks like this act was clearly as intentional as any of the mass shootings we've seen and only proves that a determined mass killer will manage to kill a large number of people regardless of the weapon he choses.

I have family living within less than a half hour's drive from the attack.......
    they are all fine........
but this is a warning about how the violence that we Canadians usually only read about
in the media can indeed come to our land as well.

I know of an ancient Islamic Hadith that I am hoping will become a basis for
cooperation between the western democracies and the Islamic nations that will
result in an entirely new era of genuine peace between nations. The alternative is
    unthinkable.......

If... my concern that the town of Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada may be the
first town to be hardest hit by rising ocean levels.... (due to the 15X
multiplier effect on low tide to high tide in that area)..... then this gives
us Canadians an opening to attempt to talk Australians, Californians, Texans
and political leaders in the Middle East, Africa and India... into getting on
    the band wagon with this.

Anchorage, Alaska has the second highest tides after the Truro area,
and New Orleans, Miami, New York, New Jersey are also being hit by
the costs of fighting rising ocean levels.... so this crisis could potentially
assist humanity into some level of agreement on this.....
that could potentially decrease the tensions that result in
    terrorist activity.

The Sahara Forest Project...and saving New Orleans and Florida from rising oceans!
