Trump eats Big Macs. Trumps overweight. He’s setting a bad example for America and we are dying in record numbers from heart disease. Trump is to blame and should be impeached. Damn you dirty Don!

“Most cardiovascular diseases stem from interference with the heart’s normal function. Plaque buildup, blood clots, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and obesity can all contribute to heart disease. Many of these conditions are preventable by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and diet.“

Drug overdose deaths are also up, record set in 2017, down slightly in 2018, and then new all time record set in 2019.

Trump is to blame for that too. He has not come out against drugs.

Guys, whatever you do, never, ever show the left this statistic from the article. They have a word they use for just these occasions.

Heart disease statistics by race and ethnicity
    • 47% of black adults in the U.S. have some type of cardiovascular disease, along with 30% of Hispanic U.S. adults. (American College of Cardiology, 2018)
    • Non-Hispanic black adults have the highest CVD death rate (208 deaths per 100,000 people), followed by white adults (168.9 per 100,000), American Indian/Alaska Native adults (151.4 per 100,000), Hispanic adults (114.1 per 100,000), and Asian/Pacific Islander adults (85.5 per 100,000). (National Center for Health Statistics, 2017)
    • High blood pressure prevalence is 41.2% for black adults, 28% for white adults, 25.9% for Hispanic adults, and 24.9% for Asian adults. (American College of Cardiology, 2018)

Yes, the US is doing worse in many health metrics compared to other first-world countries, including heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes. On the other hand, we are winning the obesity race, with 70% of the population being obese. Sedentary life styles, poor diets both contribute. Particularly troubling are the trends in youth obesity. However, when someone wants to limit soda bottle sizes, one side tends to scream "but freedom" . Don't you think this could contribute to the problem?

I don't know what the point of your post is, so please tell us exactly what is on your mind, don't hold back.

It is, however, well established that adverse living conditions in minority populations lead to poor health outcomes, and lower life expectancy. Living your life in constant high-stress mode is not good for cardiovascular health, that's nothing new.

Waste if time do they go hit the refill four times instead of two...
Sadly there is no way to force people to a t rationally when it comes to diet and exercise and trying to get them to just makes them mad.

What is the difference between a 40 ounce drink, and 2 20 ounce sugar laden carbonation containing beverages?

While I do not support government involvement in people's choices, perhaps education would be the route to go, so people can make their own, hopefully better educated, choices?

Which the individuals involved, are welcome to purchase or accept the medical assistance provided by the government, at the taxpayers cost.

And by the by, insurance is not health care. It is a front loaded payment mechanism that may or may not actually be used.

the problem is, the government is controlled by the corps, and the corps want the government to push high carb and low fat, so they can push more grains on the people as it is cheaper and more profitable for them

and this started under Nixon, not Trump

Sure, you can't force people to live a healthy life style. However, you can set conditions to make it easier. European countries are setting an example, although they, too, are seduced by the sugar-laden McDonalds addictive diet.

And this is going to get even worse with the advent of the self-driving car. Now, people at least get a small amount of exercise by walking from the parking lot to the office. Once they are dropped at the front door by their car, which parks itself afterwards, even that will disappear.

There ain't going to be any college football for the next six years, and all those players Trump invited to the WH for fast food and got them hooked on it are going to get fat and die soon.:)

Meanwhile all I've seen for years is long lines at Popeye's, Chick Filet, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, et al.

But some people are fortunate and have the genes that let them eat anything dead or alive, and they do just fine so long as there is something to eat.

It’s because they eat junk food and Trump encourages them to do so. It’s like he’s purposely killing people of color

Why did you create the thread if you don't want to engage in meaningful discussion? I doubt that if I said it is not all Trump's fault, you would believe me anyway. You have your pre-conceptions cemented very firmly in your head, as your thread title demonstrates.
