This is an extremely serious charge that Trump better have evidence to support him. Tapping a political rival is a flagrant abuse of power and if true Obama and anyone in his close circle involved should be brought up on charges. But first we must see some evidence beyond a tweet. President Donald Trump has accused Barack Obama of tapping his phones at Trump Tower in a flurry of tweets early Saturday morning.
Trump tweeted that the former president had been spying on him in October, a month before his election victory.
'Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!'

McCarthyism, which the president used in his first tweet, is the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence.
Trump started tweeting shortly after 3.30am ET and posed the question: 'Is it legal for a sitting President to be 'wire tapping' a race for president prior to an election?'
In another tweet Trump said it was a 'new low' for the former president and compared it to 'Nixon/Watergate'.
Trump also linked Obama to Attorney General Jeff Sessions's meetings last year with Russia's US ambassador, Sergey Kislyak.
'The first meeting Jeff Sessions had with the Russian Amb was set up by the Obama Administration under education program for 100 Ambs,' he tweeted.

On Wednesday, a New York Times report said White House officials took efforts in the closing days of the Obama administration to analyze and spread information about Russian election interference, driven by a concern that the material might get buried by Trump.
Intelligence agencies rushed to analyze raw intelligence material about Russia connections, going over months-old material as the extent and possible motives of what the agencies say is Russian election hacking emerged.

Obama has not responded. If he was innocent he would have said so.

 

The Onus would be on Trump to provide evidence and you know he will not...he never does. Truth be told, even IF his lines were tapped Obama had nothing to do with it. The warrants that are in question were issued to the FBI which is an agency independent from the executive branch....at least it used to be.

 

Has anyone asked Obama about it? Not responding is not an admission of guilt. He could be waiting to meet with his lawyers first before saying anything. This is a very serious charge levied by someone who is known for pulling stuff from his backside. Obama would be wise to keep quiet and let his lawyers find out if there really is any evidence to this charge.

Our own intelligence agencies has said there is something to the Russia connection which is enough to warrant a look into it. Sorry if all your crazy investigations into Dems is coming back and biting you in the ass now.

 

One advisor has already resigned and another is under heavy scrutiny and criticism. The allegations have a basis as people follow the Trump Administration tie. Get used to it. This story has legs and is training for a marathon.

My question is if it is found that Trump again pulled this from his backside and falsely accused a former President of wrongdoing, is that enough for Trumps supporters to finally say enough is enough?

 

This is a very dangerous charge that Donald Trump is making.

My ASSUMPTION is that items he only spoke about on phones at the Trump Tower made their way out to the press. Trump believes the Executive Branch would then be the only part of the government able to take such an action. Right now, we don't know much. Trump should not be making this charge without real evidence. If he has made this charge without evidence, he will drop significantly on my approval scale.

 

Obama haters have been trying to deport, jail, impeach, export, depose, or in some way get rid of BO on trumped up charges since Jan 2009. Now you guys want to jail him on some story from the Brietbart sewer. You guys are too much.

 

He's trying to start a diversion to take attention way from his Russian/Putin/Oligarch connections.
