Somewhat off the numbers topic but with a large potential to reduce the numbers below is a nice summary on drug and testing progress and plans:

    That is assbackwards!

It is the RESPONSIBILITY of the Federal government to do the PLANNING and STOCKPILING of supplies for this kind of GLOBAL crisis.

By FAILING to get AHEAD of the issue it has CAUSED the issue at the State and Local levels.

We the People NEED and DESERVE a PROACTIVE Federal government for these kinds of National DEFENSE issues.

From yesterday's starting numbers on the government model, today's daily data update has already changed to a slightly worse outlook and the peak date has moved from April 14th to April 15th. Ventilators needed has also worsened.

We all go off the path of adding valuable tracking data and information to this thread, some days more than others and some people more than others. :)

Is that a fundamental plank of progressive liberal governance ??

How is the current federal government not being proactive now ??

How many states have run out of ventilators ??

I was just trying to bring us back to the FACTS because it is the Constitutional Responsibility of the Federal Government to Protect We the People, not the States.

Current U.S. snapshot from Johns Hopkins. Over 50% of the cases are still limited to New York and New Jersey.

Referring to the president as a "criminal impotus," is not adding facts to the conversation, and you know it. This is a great thread, please help keep it that way. There are hundreds of other threads for you to spew partisan hatred at will.

Say whatever you'd like. I am a defender of everyone's free speech.

A few of us agreed to attempt to have a bipartisan unifying thread and to not place blame on people. Not everyone agreed, and people can post whatever they want.

Just like social distancing, everyone choses individually whether to maintain a nonpartisan spirit on this thread or not.

You spewed that in post 1838.

There is no requirement that you keep politics out of this thread, certainly, but it's very telling that some people will not take that nonsense elsewhere and respect this thread for what it is supposed to be. (You're not alone; you are just one of a few participants.)

It looks like over the last ten days the number of new cases have been increasing at a decreasing rate. That's a very good sign!

    U.S. only, logarithmic scale:

Just to set the record straight it was YOU that introduced the PARTISAN tone to this thread!

All I did was point out the the CAUSE of the problem ORIGINATED at the TOP, not at the State and Local levels.

That is called Setting the Record straight with the FACTS!

LSG is one of most non partisan contributors in this thread.

The cause of the pandemic is Red China.

And you have not answered my questions. Doing so might help understanding.

As I said, we have all (those few of us who agreed to a 'unity' thread) had a little outburst from time to time, some more than others and some more often than others.....and some daily.

I usually just scroll past the "blame" posts until I hit the next one which is on the track of focusing on the trend lines of the virus and looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Things are starting to look a little brighter.

Thank you for establishing that was NOT part of my current exchange but if you want to dredge up posts from 7+ hours ago with a different member you should have responded to that post and not this exchange.

FTR I have now reported that post of mine and asked to have it deleted just as I have done on prior occasions when I have made a mistake in this thread.

The CO governor only issued the Stay at Home order on 3/28 so it is a little early to be expecting a significant decline however it is entirely possible that Coloradans decided to begin Social Distancing in significant numbers prior to that order.

Either way it is still good to see any declines and holding thumbs that it continues in this direction.

Oh, I like how the graphs are. The way the data is presented visually really is cool.
I just prefer to see the raw numbers with my own eyes.
