Trey Gowdys unexpected Benghazi twist

In constrast to the histrionic circus that Daryll Issa has turned the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in, Trey Gowdy opened his Benghazi investigation by acting like a professional.

Right wing media must be disappointed, judging by the silence from the fringe here on PF this morning.

As far as Trey, he is the man. He is no nonsense and to the point, and if he ever ran for president I'd vote for this guy in a heart beat. What I am shocked at, you are one of the first liberals that who actually mentioned seeking the facts, instead of the normal weave, dodge, and lie that has permeated the Obama administration for the last 6 years

I want to remind you the Trey Gowdy is a prosecuting trial lawyer and a dam good one that has never lost a case he knows how to play to a jury and the jury at these hearings is the American public

First i will fill you in on the does and don'ts of a successful prosecuting trail lawyer
one you never take a case you cant win one that you know a crime wasn't committed Trey knows wong doings happened Trey knows who are the ones who is involved he just needs to gather the evidence to prove as much beyond a reasonable doubt
second you never ever ask a question you don't already know the answer to and the evidence to back up that answer
third you never at first start out being hostile to a witness you want them relaxed so to open up to the line of questioning you give them enough rope so to hang them selves at a later date

Trey is setting the stage and getting the boring democrat approved topics over with and out of the way he setting up the narrative so when he gets to the meat and potato's of the investigation he will already have the public and press admitting he was conducting a fair and honest nonpartisan committee and it will make the press look like democrat hacks when they recant their entail statement of a fair nonpartisan committee when it starts going south for Clinton

and according to your post you are falling right into the setting of the stage, because I know when the truth is finally exposed the truth Gowdy already knows about you will be right back to your old rhetoric of this is nothing but a republican witch hunt but guess what we have you on record saying this is a nonpartisan adult run committee and you changing coarse on that statement when it goes south for your side will expose you for a partisan hack

Obviously, he's just killing time on an "investigation" that he knows will turn up nothing substantial....certainly not the "smoking gun on Benghazi that will take down Obama and/or Hillary", that the Fox News types desperately hope for.

It's nice to see one of the Republican attack dogs has a sense of honor and honesty. How Daryl Issa retains even a shred of credibility speaks volumes about how people will support anyone no matter what as long as they play for the same "team".

I'm all for holding Birth Certificate hearings, but the GOP leadership understands what their followers do not. Benghazi!!! was an October Surprise that backfired on Mitt Romney and, for the sake of the Republican Party, it should have been unceremoniously shoved down the memory hole long ago.

 

WHEN (not "if") Gowdy ends his investigation at the end of next year...and does NOT validate the Fox News version of Benghazi.....I want to save your post praising him.

Wow. I wouldn't recognize Gowdy unless he was yelling (literally yelling) at somebody in Congress. If this is the new Gowdy, then things may actually get accomplished in these hearings.

Trey Gowdy already knows the truth and he has the evidence other wise he would have never accepted the role of heading the committee if he didn't. you don't become a successful prosecuting attorney that never lost a case by accepting cases you don't already know you will win

Look at the last two rightwing posts, TRF and Dutch. One is saying Gowdy is prejudiced.....that he's going into an investigation with his mind already made up. The other is ADMITTING that it's not about "finding the truth"....but "winning it for Conservatives"
