Better not to fix things just make up crap that allows the raping of the nation for the past 30 plus years to continue.

So far absolutely nothing the republicans and/or democrats have suggested would help anything, just draw out the inevitable demise of this once great nation while protecting their rich masters.

I don't even bother trying to read it. Since political forum refuses to have more theme skins, I am stuck with the white background that makes me feel like I'm staring at a light bulb. Coupling that with his blue font is just too much. I just can't do it.

It's a much better idea than not lifting the debt ceiling. But it's still a very dumb idea.

I think it should have John Boehner's head on it.

Then let's agree, since only economists have even brought this up...

    Retarded. Plain and simple.

Might as well price the (*)(*)(*)(*) thing to an ounce of pencil lead.

The funniest part of this whole coin thing... it was originally produced as just kind of a joke at an MMT website by someone named Beowulf. The Govt will never actually do this. But it goes to show, if you understand the monetary system you understand how all this stuff works. Pretty cool idea, but definitely will never happen.

99.1% of economists agree that massive spending is needed to get out of a Depression/Recession. I rounded it down to 99% so as not to rile Rush's fans.

Using the debt ceiling for extortionary purposes is a Republican invention.

Calling me a "kid" because I use an old picture of myself is quite stupid of you. Looking at your avatar, which appears to be of someone shooting a gun, doesn't make me accuse you of being one of the high percentage of conservatives who are apparently fearful of going anywhere, even into a forum, without a weapon.

How about move out of mommy and daddy's house first and see how real life works before making yourself look like an idiot with stupid comments.

The supply would be low, but so would the demand. Many recent American numismatic products are selling for much less than the issue price.

The problems that started 30 years ago are related to the abrupt conservative turn that started with Reaganomics and the ascendancy of conservative media.

It's a legitimate way of dealing with Republican extortion.

You are lacking in perception if you think that I am a kid. You are also lacking in intelligence to take the same positions as hucksters like Rush and Glenn Beck who punk people into voting the way big bankers want them to vote!!

Don't you realize that Congress will have to authorize such a coin? And that includes Repubs!

No they wouldn't. That's what makes this interesting. It's a way for Obama to circumvent congress if he wanted to. This is because congress has already granted the authority to the treasury to mint collectible coins in any denomination they want. And the way the law was written they could make the coin a trillion dollar coin if they wanted to. And it would require no congressional approval. The only requirement is that the coin must be made of platinum.
