It's amazing how they don't understand this no matter how many times it is explained to them. Of course mention of Hunter's laptop, the Dunham Report, Tony Bobulinski, etc have noticeably disappeared since the election. It's almost as if all of that was propaganda or something.

For all those reasons, if Donald were an honorable and principled man, if he really gave a damn about standing up for the country, he would pardon Julian Assange and Edward Snowden.

We don't have freedom of press. The press does what their stockholders want.

It is honestly one of the most profound thing our president has ever said. It's the old "if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it make a sound?". Think about George Floyd. You know how many black guys die by cop every year? You know why that one got so much attention? Because national news picked it up and pounded it in Americans heads. The other ones they didn't care about because it wasn't election season yet. You understand how that works and why our "free press" is not objectively reporting the news but rather indoctrinating people? Listening to main stream news is the equivalent of drinking kool aid. I have learned not to take any news from a source that does not have a forum where that news can be discussed.

 

I'm not sure why the Trump supporters are crying.

They've still got Newsmax. Or ONAN. (OANN). Or Breitbart. Or the Washington Examiner. Or the Moonie Times (Washington Times). Or the Chinese-Falun-Gong news (Epoch Times). Or Perler. Or 8chan. Or Stormfront. And so on. Not to mention the dozens of mailing lists they got on by handing their email address to a "Should Hillary Clinton go to jail?" fake poll.

The Trump diehards are free to choose whatever media they want. They're just not free to force everyone else to repeat the claims of that fringe media, and that has them upset. Their conspiracy rambling can't compete in the free market of ideas, so they're demanding some socialist affirmative action to prop up their ideology.

Of course we can. However when legitimate data is produced from those websites people like you get to say things like "that doesn't count because MY favorite news source hasn't reported it". Of course that doesn't work on me because I understand how to look into sources used by a news sources, but there are a lot of sheep like, lazy Americans who will discount data because it's not from the "approved" sources. Just goes to show how lazy Americans are that the name brand that information comes from is more important than the content. No wonder Apple cleans up on so many suckers.

"Dealing with the debt" ? FFS. They had 3 years and they NEVER even discussed it. Nobody in the administration was discussing that, nor were the red networks talking about it. But rest assured, 10 minutes after Biden is sworn in it will be the lead story on every red network.

The "economy re-opening" ? WTF are you on about now. Everyone on the left has been pointing out the fact that the Economy is falsely inflated since before covid. Trump has done what every republican president since the rights St.Reagan has done, which is to pump government money into the economy, and then claim victory, and then when the next dem gets into office, blame them for "government spending". But dont kid yourself, Mitch McConnell will do everything in his power to neuter Biden. And then the red networks will start spewing more "Biden is a lame duck" BS.

Trump does get credit for the vaccines. He actually did that and should get credit for that. Operation Warp speed was a success.

YES, Americans do consider the source. Many news outlets actually do report the truth, but there are just as many that have an agenda that report things in a bias way. But lets be perfectly clear here, that the bias in reporting is courtesy of the Rightwing in this country, and their destruction of the Fairness Doctrine. Yes, both sides do it, but the right in this country has weaponized it for political gain.

Rupert Murdoch is the architect of the way news is propagated to the masses in this country. He and Roger Ailes had a plan before Fox even hit the airwaves to change not only what "information" was, but also what that information meant. They found ways to report only the parts that resonated with their viewers, but also kept those viewers tuned in for longer periods of time. The did not invent confirmation bias, but they sure as hell perfected it.

I don't know what planet you've been on all your life, but the press (print, broadcast & televised) has been documenting crime rate in the black community for decades. Whether black on black, cop on black, white on black, etc., the press has always followed one credo; if it bleeds it leads.

As far as a "free press" goes, there is some truth in what you say. But, I don't recall folk of your mindset getting all bent out of shape when the LIES that lead us into invading and occupying Iraq were parroted in the press. I suggest you read Noam Chomsky's "Manufacturing Consent".
