Baltimore is #5 on the list of cities in the United States with the highest Murder rate, it's also run by the Democrats and has a high percentage of Black people. Let's not try to sugar coat this, because anytime you have an area where there is a high percentage of Black people, there's also a high percentage of crime. So! what are we suppose to take from that, It's WHITEY'S FAULT and it's RACIST to announce to the World that Black people have a much higher propensity for violence and murder than White people. Look at the Continent of Africa, those countries over there have countless examples of Murder and Mayhem and has a HIGH percentage of Black people. Can any Liberal find me a place besides Wakanda , that is Predominantly populated by Blacks that has a LOW! murder rate. The Black Murder problem has gotten to the point that it's out of control, BUT! it's RACIST to mention and discuss it and some Politicians are floating around the idea that Money and Reparations is going to fix it, which I say is Bullshit. It's all starts with having a good family structure where there is a responsible father figure to steer their children in the right direction and be role models for them, but that is an extreme rarity in America, where the percentage of fatherless Black children is pretty damn High. Donald Trump might not always be the best at describing something, but he is correct in that Baltimore has become a Rat infested, Murder and Crime infested shithole that also happens to be run by Liberals and has a high percentage of Black people. The Truth Hurts, but the Truth is the Truth and we can't cover our eyes and plug our ears any longer while going BLAH BLAH BLAH I don't want to hear this.

A black person can most certainly be criticized - but too many in these threads take the screw up of one black person, or a small percentage of black people, and use it as an excuse to blame all black people - as if they all knew each other and should be able to control each other. It's stupid, but I see it on this board constantly.

Above we see a conservative who is trying to blame all the black people of Baltimore for the actions of less than 20% of that population.
Why should a black dentist in Baltimore have to be responsible for the actions of a black thief? Over 90% of the black population of Baltimore will never be involved in violent crime - but the person above feels that it is the responsibility of a black fireman to control those that do. I think the good people of Baltimore have every right to hold up a big middle finger salute to such attitudes.

 

He can bury him? REALLY?? LOL Democrats had better worry about 2024. I see the presidency and House being taken by Republicans in 2020. Perhaps Dems should start HELPING AMERICANS. Baltimore is a Democrat run sewer.

No. I see myself as a cultural descendent of the Appalachian peoples. I can simultaneously have love for my community and pride in this cultural descendance while also accepting that my people have been not just party to, but primary participants in some of the greatest crimes perpetrated in recent centuries. Poor, downtrodden communities simultaneously have a tendency towards beautiful and uplifting aspects, and towards awful, destructive aspects. African-Americans, just like my people, exemplify this tension. Nowhere in this country is toxic masculinity so severe as in our African-American community. Nowhere in this country is transphobia so severe as in our African-American community (well, that's debatable). Those communities do deserve criticism for these aspects.

But right-wing criticism is never meant to improve. It's meant to paint as subhuman, as undeserving, and ultimately to use as a cudgel to beat down any attempts to improve our country.

 

I expected DC to top that list.

Doesn't matter. You are trying to blame ALL crime on black American citizens - despite the fact that 80% of black American citizens are not involved in crime. You are incapable of thinking outside the box you have created for black people, and that box is "criminals". That is pretty much the very definition of racism. You blame an entire race for the actions of a small percentage of that race. You blame a black fireman for the the failing of a black drug dealer.

 

How do you know what criticism of messed up cities is intended to do?

I take a longer view than most people. Trump isn't the real threat to this country, Joe Biden is. The Republicans needed Latinos to at least be evenly supportive of their party, but their use of racism as a tool to oppose welfare and win over white southerners got out of control and excluded that possibility. You're losing Texas, and that dooms you, electorally. The only question going forward is this: How often can the Republicans hold the Senate?
