Bernie Moreno, a former car dealer endorsed by Donald Trump, won a three-way GOP primary Tuesday for the right to take on Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio.

Moreno handily beat out Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan, who was endorsed by popular figures in the state’s Republican establishment. But for months polling indicated it was essentially a two-person race between Dolan and Moreno.

This is good news for the Democrats.

Moreno's election significantly increases Sherrod Brown's chances of being re-elected (for a 4th time) to the Senate..... and the Liberals to retain control.

The Democrats have even invested several million $ in positive advertising for Moreno, knowing that he would be an easier candidate to beat next November...

    Doesn't that make you laugh?

Trump has not been good on the down ballot for Republicans.

Trump chosen candidates have a long history of losing, especially in 2022. Cameron, Masters, Walker, Diehl, Cox, Laxalt, Oz, Bolduc, Tshibaka, Palin, Lake, Schmidt, Dixon, Mastriano plus some I can’t remember all lost. The choice of Bernie Moreno is good news to Brown and the democrats in Ohio.

True. This should keep Ohio in the Dem. Column.
Still, the Senate Map in "24 is brutal for the Dems
OH, MT, and AZ are all MUST Wins. (Even to get to 50/50).

In a less competitive state, being endorsed by Trump is often the kiss of death....

    Here’s Arizona - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/arizona/lake-vs-gallego

    Ohio - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/senate/general/2024/ohio/brown-vs-moreno

RCP didn’t have anything on Montana. So here’s 538 and their list of polls. - https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/senate/2024/montana/

I’d say the democrats as of today are the favorites to retain those seats. Of course, in a 50-50 tie the VP is the tie breaker like Harris in Biden’s first two years. Trump and Biden is a pure tossup at this point. Keep in the mind the MOE of usually plus or minus 3 points.

    Two candidate race - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/trump-vs-biden

    Three candidate race - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/trump-vs-biden-vs-kennedy

    Five candidate race - https://www.realclearpolling.com/po...24/trump-vs-biden-vs-kennedy-vs-west-vs-stein

Then there are only 3 states in the electoral college where the difference is 5 points or below. Making those 3 states pure tossups also.

    https://www.270towin.com/

If the election were held today, Biden would have to win all three to be reelected, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Wisconsin. Well I’m at it, here is the house generic congressional poll.

    https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/state-of-the-union/2024/generic-congressional-vote

Which simply means either party could gain or lose between 5-8 seats. Going by congressional districts, the democrats have 22 seats up that are in the risk of switching vs. 21 for the republicans at risk of switching. Everything is pretty even, house, senate, presidential.

Thanks at this point I still think Trump has the advantage. He has in the past been able to get some of the unexpected voters for him. I haven't been able to recall that article, where it was stated Trump received votes from people that rarely if ever vote and hence has been beating the polling statistics.

That’s what happened in 2016 and 2020. Trump ended up with approximately 3 point higher than the polls were showing whereas Clinton and Biden were pretty much dead on.

Obviously, the Dems retain control at 50/50 if Biden Wins...
    This part is actually wrong:
Biden would have to win all three to be reelected, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Wisconsin.
^Biden has several Electoral Paths to 270 which DO NOT include Ohio.

***Personally, I don"t think Biden has a prayer of winning Ohio.
I have Ohio as Solid Red.
Obviously, PA and WI are a MUST for Biden.
BUT, if Biden can carry MI again (like he did in 2020) and repeat the Win in NE-2, he gets to 270 (even w/o AZ, NV, or GA).

Wait, are you sure this is real? I thought Trump was RACIST. Why would he endorse a man of Colombian decent?
That's the problem with being dishonest, it comes back to bite ya right in the rear!

I didn't think it was as high as 3pts, but it was enough for Trump.

What I did was give any state which either candidate lead by 5 points or more to that candidate. In the end, only 3 states were below the 5-point margin. Here are the so called swing states.

    Arizona - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/arizona/trump-vs-biden

    Nevada - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/nevada/trump-vs-biden

I see there’s been a change in Nevada since I last looked, that makes 4 states where the margin is less than 5 points.

    Wisconsin- https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/wisconsin/trump-vs-biden

    Michigan - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/michigan/trump-vs-biden

    Pennsylvania - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/pennsylvania/trump-vs-biden

    North Carolina - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/north-carolina/trump-vs-biden

    Georgia - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/georgia/trump-vs-biden

Updated to include Nevada as a toss up joining Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

    LMAO…indeed.
If trump hadn’t lied for decades about the value of his business, the courts wouldn’t have penalized him so much in his fraud trial.
As it is, banks refuse to lend him money with such suspect properties as collateral.

No doubt! Trump certainly must be the first real estate tycoon to ever round up some numbers. I'm pretty sure nobody else in history has ever done that. It think if all high value properties are checked in NYC we will find EVERY ONE to be clean as a whistle with 100% accuracy down tot he last cent.

    Some numbers ?

    No.

    All his assets.

    Everyone speeds.

But that doesn't mean we're going to abolish speed limits.

Yet another MAGA who would like Trump to have a pass....

The law is for anyone not named Trump.

It’s really pathetic the lengths maga will go to excuse trump's crimes and complete lack of character.
Saving face must be so tedious. Every time they polish one turd, their boy drops another one and they have to start again.

A few years ago, I thought criminal charges against Trump would be politically fatal for him.

But the cult is so entrenched, Trump has managed to make them believe that it's the entire American justice system that's corrupt.

After the arrest of the main witness in the alleged impeachment of Biden, James Comer went on Fox News to say that he had no confidence in the FBI...

This kind of statement would have been unthinkable before the Trump era.

Back then, even Republicans respected institutions.

If I had said in 2016 that some Americans would be so bamboozled by a politician that they would vote for him even if he were in prison, no one would ever have believed me.

    Yet here we are.

The Founding Fathers didn't foresee that some Americans could want a criminal running the country.

Well, Moreno has a brewing sex scandal and is mindlessly loyal to Trump.

He seems the very definition of MAGA.
