It was not, & never will be, my intent to "smear" you or anyone on this forum. I recognize, & value the fact that we all have our individual perspectives. The point is to have an interesting, informative, sometimes lively discussion around the issues. I enjoy that. I suspect most members do as well.

My post was about the quote you have at the bottom of your posts--not about you personally. My example was simply designed to illustrate my point--which I still feel it does, & does well. In your response you claimed that Republicans are living in a country whose laws were made by Democrats & uncomfortable for you. I'm a Democrat, & I often feel that discomfort with many of the laws passed under Republican rule. So you got me interested is finding out how many year since 1865, each party was in charge of Congress (based on a simple head count). It turns out, there were 155 years between 1865 & 2020. Of those, Democrats controlled Congress 85 years, & Republicans ruled for 70. But for many of those years, both Democrats & Republicans were centrists, with little to no difference between them on most issues. For the most part, they were cooperative with each other except during active election campaigns. The parties actually began drifting away from that centrist point of view beginning in 1994, with the divisiveness of Newt Gingrich. It has only worsened ever since. I personally miss the cooperation we used to have between the parties. I am uncomfortable with the extremism & divisiveness currently haunting our society. It's not healthy, & I don't see Republicans doing anything to make it better. The way they handled Obama's last Supreme Court nominee, & then totally reversed themselves on this last Trump nominee, illustrates how little they care about the welfare of the country & its hallowed institutions--practically none--& how totally committed to partisan domination they've become. I'm sorry to see them act that way. It hurts. But more importantly, it's bad for the country. Putting party before country is a bad idea, & that's what they are clearly doing. It's the worst political times I've ever experienced in my life as an American, & I'm not proud of that.

Since I know in any pregnancy, the soul of the mother & the soul of the unborn fetus have a mutual agreement that either of them has the right to break anytime before that fetus is capable of surviving on its own. If the unborn soul back out, it's called a miscarriage. If the mother back out, it's called an abortion. Neither prevents that same unborn soul from coming back again in the fetus of the mother's next pregnancy. It happens all the time. :)

Yes.. he brags... and there is logic in why he does this!

Will blue collar support give President Trump victory in 2020?

My belief is that God puts the soul in at the moment of birth. That's why it cries, having just that minute been torn from paradise itself.

I got that from the writings of St Augustine.

I feel God gives the individual soul more autonomy, & lets it decide when to enter the fetus. I am convinced it can decide to do so right up till the mother goes into labor. I don't believe most unborn souls enter at conception. That would be too early. Waiting until the fetus becomes more differentiated with a brain, heart, & other organs, makes more sense. That allows the soul to begin making those crucial, but complex connections with the physical body it will need during its coming life on Earth. I don't think most souls wait till near birth either. That would put a lot of pressure on it to make those connections too quickly & might cause mental or physical problems after birth. I agree God plays a part in everything, but I feel he leaves most of the details up to those involved personally. Part of "free will," you might say. :)
