I wonder then why Democrats so love many if not most of these presidents? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_..._who_owned_slaves#Presidents_who_owned_slaves
I suspect that had Trump ran under the Democratic banner vs a republican, you suddenly would like him a lot more.
Liberals live by political correctness not by the Constitution. Liberal political correctness is thought control and the First Amendment only comes into play when someone says something that has been approved by the left. President-elect Trump tweets an opinion and 60 million low information people soil their panties and run to Toys R Us to buy more Play Dough.
Yes, he won and it is time to get things done . . . but no, he hasn't stopped whining. Not by a long shot. He's whined about losing the popular vote, negative news coverage, protests, etc. etc. And it isn't going to stop any time soon, unless maybe his handlers take away his Twitter privileges again.
Burning your trash or anything else in a city that has an ordinance against it is a little different than revoking one's citizenship for excercising free speech.
President Trump only tweets like a dictator, the democrats like clinton actually do it. he is the lesser evil, but we need a good president who protects liberty one day. That is the correct way if you believe in Government. I have seen the left praise the burning of the flag in the past. All I say on this ... the flag belongs to me and whom but me should burn my own flag. But should i violate laws such as to prevent burning my blankets, and rather burn my flag, then I get the laws changed or abide them. I don't burn my possessions on public property. But the fact it is my flag, makes no difference. It is still my personal property and mine alone to deal with. In simple terms, I don't tell you what you may burn of your property so don't do it to me.
Liberals are famous for being politically incorrect in matters that are important. For example, they spoke out against tyrannical policies that only allowed white, land owning males the right to vote. Those liberals and progressives spoke up until they actually changed the US Constitution. However, there is still much work to do as far as ending tyranny so the liberals and progressives will continue to fight the good fight like they always have.
I think he is wrong. Nothing is sacred.. Especially not national flags. It's downright religious to revere a flag and enact what amount to blasphemy laws to protect it..
many of the founders owned slaves, bad people can do good things.... doesn't change the bad things though
A mindless drone wrote this? "The American flag, then, throughout more than 200 years of our history, has come to be the visible symbol embodying our Nation. It does not represent the views of any particular political party, and it does not represent any particular political philosophy. The flag is not simply another "idea" or "point of view" competing for recognition in the marketplace of ideas. Millions and millions of Americans regard it with an almost mystical reverence regardless of what sort of social, political, or philosophical beliefs they may have. I cannot agree that the First Amendment invalidates the Act of Congress, and the laws of 48 of the 50 States, which make criminal the public burning of the flag." Real question is, why do you want to desecrate the American flag so badly?
Really? So if I burn a flag, all the beliefs of millions of Americans will suddenly disappear? Does the constitution suddenly become meaningless because some red, white, and blue piece of cloth was burned somewhere? I feel I should burn a flag just to prove you wrong. In fact, I don't have to; your own post proves you wrong.
So skip the gas, just see how far you get lighting up an old t shirt in a crowd. Tell em it's your right lol. This flag burning crap has run it's course IMO, and should never have been allowed.
"Clear and present danger is not a prerequisite to overturn a supreme Court ruling. Changing cultural values is enough and the election shows that's exactly what's occurring in America. "The court might decide to review an earlier case in response to changing cultural views. In Pace v. Alabama, the court upheld state laws banning interracial marriage based on a view that such laws protected white marriages. Eighty years later, the Court overruled the Pace decision in Loving v. Virginia, ruling marriage discrimination laws were not legal."
nope the north won the war, southern conservatives lost, regardless we let southern conservatives stay
Let me get that correct. Can good people who do good things own slaves? (when it was entirely legal) - - - Updated - - - That is the same old dodge Democrats have learned to use for at least 20 years that i know of. The notion that the North was not conservative .....
Irrelevant. The winner always decides history anyway. We cannot judge history based on current ideals, we must judge them based on the world at the time. The point is, trying to erase things from history because you don't like it is the true atrocity.
No it didn't. Its worst day was the day trump got elected. We are now facing the prospect of an emotional adolescent with poor impulse control, with a history of unethical business practices (countless employees and contractors stiffed, and six business bankruptcies - leaving others holding the bag), a serial liar, a man who brags about being able to get away with sexual assault. This is what the GOP has foisted on this great nation. What a shameful thing the GOP has done.
