That's right. It's a strawman argument that I won't acknowledge. What I mean by i won't acknowledge is that I refuse to give it veracity by or consideration by debating it.

Ah. You have a mistaken view of the meaning of acknowledgement. Acknowledging doesn't mean agreeing with it. It means you are aware of it.

And I was simply saying I'm not acknowledging it because it wasn't a valid argument. I don't know why this is so important to you to correct me on.

200K and then we had to shut everything down. Trump said 2.5 million would have died. Is that a big or small number to you?

Yes, the good doctor from Germany, along with Piers Corbyn a month or two ago, along with every whistleblower who has spoken truth to power, have demonstrated again that in a time of universal deception, speaking the truth in public is a radical act.

    Thank God for whistleblowers.

Well, I guess you would then have to consider how many of those 2.5 million would have died anyways right?

Remember that Jesus wishes us to serve each other because through this we ultimately serve the Father.

Galatians 6:2 - Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Hebrews 13:16 - And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Philippians 2:4 - Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Matthew 25:44 - 45 - They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' He will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

His Word applied in the times of COVID, IMO means there is no question that we serve Him by following the recommended guidelines: wearing a mask, keeping distance, staying home when sick, shutting down non-essential businesses in areas of intense outbreak, even when (and especially when) this means forgoing the trivial pleasures that we might otherwise enjoy; eating out, going to the movies or a bar, partying with our friends, etc.

I think most Republicans live by the Gospel of Ayn Rand where selfishness is the ultimate goodness.

I was informed on Monday that a coworker tested positive for coronavirus. This is the first person that I know personally who has contracted the virus. I took a test yesterday and will find out if I am positive this morning.

    from the Trump shutdown?

the 2 million was the amount that would have died had Trump done nothing as he originally wanted to do, thankfully the public and corporations are ignoring Trump and doing something

You can't say COVID isn't a big deal and then in the same breath say that millions of lives were saved from the shutdown. How could millions of lives have been saved from a harmless virus?

Likewise you can't say covid is a big deal but swift action to slow the spread and save millions of lives is not a big deal.

    Trump: Covid Affects 'Virtually Nobody'
With over 200,000 Americans now dead from Covid, it is hard to see any truth in this statement. I try to honor truth in my own life, & live in response to the reality that truth offers me. Statements like this by Trump simply illustrates his conscious refusal to live in the same reality you or I do. Unfortunately, this choice by him makes him useless as a leader of our country, since he's always lost in an alternative reality of his own making, & oblivious to the demands your & my reality require of him.

Trump got infected to show this covid virus is "fake news", that is it's not so dangerous. Let's see how quickly he deals with it.

if Trump is asymptomatic, will he play down the dangers of the virus... maybe

my guess is he would just brag about how strong he is and that doctors say he has the best immune system, they never seen anything like it

but we can hope Trump gains some empathy from the experience...

Trump may have just had a panic attack from fear of being found positive, we do not know yet

    he could still be asymptomatic

    you're probably right

That mystery trip to the hospital Trump had months ago might have been a panic attack.

It's possible, but it seems odd that Walter Reed would say he's having trouble breathing when he wasn't.
