He's trying to show that there was nothing worthy of 'striking back' and evaporating Iran.

What's the big deal? The hysterics over concussions are overstated anyway. And yes due to my job (football coach) I'm required to take updated workshops every year regarding the dangers of concussions.

We can expect a lot more than we could expect from those who can't make a comment about the president without slandering him in the process, and have an agenda that controls their motives and the claims they make.

Anything to defend Trump. I guess that's why they call it a cult. By the way, if you don't mind me ask, what university did you get your medical degree from? Because I'm pretty sure most, if not all, doctors would disagree with your assessment of concussions. From what I understand, depending on the severity concussions can have life long health affects.

Everybody knows that. But there is such a thing (and pretty common) as "minor concussions". And most of the concerns about football players is not technically about concussions anyway but what some call "sub concussion repetitive brain trauma". That is the long term effects of repeated lower level injuries that do not register as "concussions".

And I've never voted for Trump and repeatedly disagreed with him. So why do you call me a "Trump cultist"?

Do you think Trump was surprised that Iran had missiles capable of evading US detection?

What makes you think they weren't detected?

Because if they had been detected they would have been shot down before they reached their target.

Even under optimal conditions, all incoming missiles cannot be shot down.

I heard the Iranians shot approximately 23 missiles into Iraq. Some hit US military bases, some didn't. It doesn't appear ANY of them were shot down.
So, that means the US military wasn't able to shoot them down. And I think that gave Trump pause. I notice he toned down his rhetoric after Iran sent those missiles into Iraq.

I truly hope he didn't laugh to see 176 people die that way. Wheter Americans were on the plane or not doesn't matter.

guess we will learn more later, though I doubt Trump knew they were serious if they were at the time he said no soldiers were harmed - we do not really know much yet

The missile strike was certainly more serious than what happened at our embassy in Iraq, yet it's the embassy incidents that is being characterized as a vicious attack. The purpose of this is to create a narrative that the situation with Iran has deescalated, when it fact things have escalated.

We now have 34 U.S. troops diagnosed with traumatic brain injury from the rocket attacks.

"traumatic brain injury" does not mean what most people think it means.

People hear the term "traumatic brain injury" and they tend to automatically think it means "severe, permanent brain damage".

But it does not mean that at all. "traumatic brain injury" does not refer to the severity of the injury at all. It only means injury to the brain caused by an outside force (i.e. trauma).

I'll give an example. A car accident. Two people are in the front seat. One persons airbag deploys. They suffer only brief dizziness after their head hits the airbag.

The other persons airbag malfunctions. They hit the windshield interior with their skull shattered and bone fragments driven into their brains resulting in permanent damage.

Technically BOTH of them have suffered "traumatic brain injury".

I can’t argue as to what the general public understands on the matter, but I would guess they understand there are varying degrees of severity.
Even mild to moderate TBI can be permanently life altering though. It doesn’t take a caved in skull to suffer for the rest of your life. I sat through enough mandatory training back in the army to know that much.
The issues caused, depending on multiple factors, can be wide spread and extremely debilitating.

I would like to assume that any doctor on a U.S. military base making a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury knows a hell of a lot more about it than our resident medical specialists here on political forum???

I'm quite familiar with concussion danger. Have to take training in it every year. Besides which I don't see any quote from a doctor made in this thread regarding this issue.

So you say. Regardless unless you have a medical degree your 'training' hardly qualifies you an expert in the field of TBI. Hell, you even go so far as to say such things like, "What's the big deal? ThAne hysterics over concussions are overstated anyway."

34 U.S. service members diagnosed with brain injuries after Iran attack
    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/milita...-diagnosed-brain-injuries-after-iran-n1122181

WASHINGTON — Thirty-four U.S. service members were diagnosed with concussions and traumatic brain injuries following Iranian airstrikes on the Ain al-Asad Air Base in Iraq earlier this month, the Pentagon's chief spokesman said Friday.
