Assurances made that some money will be allocated for a steel barrier.

DACA will probably be extended, but the the length of time is to be negotiated.

Three weeks to hammer out the fine details of the remainder of border security package.

And it was so simple and easy, it could've been done any time. It could've been done WAY back in 2017. Everyone owns a piece of the shutdown, including Trump.

Assurances? Are these the same "assurances" they gave Bush Sr to betray his constituents and then get betrayed in turn by the Democrat snakes.?

I have an idea for some compromise legislation that will help Donnie keep his campaign promise.

During the next 3 weeks, the Democrats should write legislation to commit to new wall construction every dollar remitted from Mexico for wall construction.

    Direct from Trump's speech:

"...they have finally and fully acknowledged that barriers or walls will be an important part of the solution..."

What part of, "will be," don't you understand?

    TRUMP CAVED.

Pathetic. a 33 day shutdown for what? "negotiations in good faith".

Seems Dear Leader just ran head first into the limitations of his power precisely due to his limitations as a human, a leader and as the president.

    What a guy.

That's a great idea. I support a tariff on all manufactured goods passing through the border and a head tax on all people traveling across the border in either direction in order top pay for border security. If the President can increase steel tariffs in the name of national security, I see no reason he can't do the same thing at the Mexican border

Much of the current money being sent back to the cartels is being laundered through Western Union by small transactions. Simply tax those transactions at a marginal rate and it will add up.

That would take an act of Congress and everyone is starting to figure out that the Cartels pay the Democrat Party big bucks to avoid such tactics.

I wonder if the Commerce Dept or some other regulatory agency could regulate a fee in lieu of taxes?

NO! The administration should have riffed all of them rather than give in to the anti-American Democrats

Trump will use his executive orders in 3 weeks or the government will shut down again. It's time for dems to prove that they care about border security. No physical barrier, no deal. We will gladly shut it down again.

Why do all the trumpettes here hate Americans ? They just handed 800000+ votes over to the Democrats. If the government shuts down again, maybe enough Senators will vote to convict Dirty Donnie after the House impeaches him.

    There are limits.

And where would that be and why haven't he done so? He wanted to prove he is a great negotiator but he truly isn't.
