I thought it was to have massive taxes and over regulations to squeeze the American people until they can’t breath and lose hope, to then turn to the democrat party asking for their communist agenda to save them? I’m playing, I know it is both.

President Polk surely fell that way when he decided to send ninety percent of the whole US army south of the border to seizes half of Mexico under General Scott.

Hell instead of building the wall why do we not follow the example of President Polk and seized the rest of Mexico.

No more Mexicans problems as there would be no more Mexicans.

Once we got all of Mexico under the US flag we could try our luck for the third time and try once more to seized Canada.

Hopefully without getting Washington burn to the ground this time.

It wasn't anything I could prove personally. My info came from one of the girls who came into shop all the time. I told her to run away or go to the authority's. It seems it is a little more complicated than that. They are promised work here but it isn't what they thought it would be. They use the power of persuasion and threats on their families back home. Some of them work the hotels for the summer and others work strip clubs. You see them all summer and then poof their gone. You do wonder about them.

The fact remains, I haven't seen much hard data on it; only how much money Trump is asking to start. There is no cost-benefit analysis, no hard figures on annual costs or no effectiveness. What does appear to be regularly ignored is that over 30% of illegals came here legally and still do.

 

What has he turned around that no other Republican in the White House would have done with a Republican Senate, a Republican House and a Republican-leaning Supreme Court? Would President Pence have been different? Perhaps even better?

Trump isn't tough. He just whines louder than those who whine about him.

BTW, he made a personal attack suggesting you see a shrink; that's an offense (a light one) but not analyzing.

I don't know much about Polk's administration. Normally, the U.S. doesn't do the aggression type thing. We have to have some very good reason. Did Mexico want to claim the southwester U.S. as their territory? Did they send forces?

 

Sorry dude, but Trump owned the shut down when he said "I'd love to see a shutdown if we don't get this stuff taken care of." Of course, if there is a shutdown, the finger-pointing will be epic. In November, the voters will decide who bears the blame.
