Trump Lies Again

Our President has just hit a new low even for him when he said that Obama and most other presidents didn't make calls or contact the families of fallen soldiers.


“If you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls,” Mr. Trump said during a news conference in the Rose Garden with the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell. “A lot of them didn’t make calls. I like to call when it’s appropriate.”

And he had the audacity to use that lie to explain why he apparently forgot or was too cowardly to contact the families of the four who died in Nicaragua. There just doesn't seem to be anything too sleezy for Trump in his efforts to duck responsibility or blame others for his self centered callous behavior.

President Trump is lying because his lack of caring about fallen soldiers was and still is on full display. Over 2 weeks after 4 soldiers were killed, he has yet to make a comment on it. The man is a disgrace.

By the way, the 4 soldiers were killed in Niger, not Nicaragua. Not that it changes this story but just wanted to mention it so the OP is accurate.

So you seem to be making the claim that all previous presidents have called the families of all KIA soldiers(ill be nice and just start at WW2 and not go all the way back to the 1700’s).

So FDR called hundreds of thousands of families....
Truman called tens of thousands of families....
JFK called thousands of families....
LBJ called tens of thousands of families....
Nixon called thousands of families.....
Bush sr called hundreds of families....
Bush Jr called thousands of families.....
And Obama called thousands of families....

The big 'point' that can't be overlooked is trump is a pathetic shell of a man that is nothing more than a moron causing embarrassment to our country. Interesting that you would accuse the OP of making a strawman when, in fact, it is you who made the strawman. He never said that the former called every single family. And Trump said, "most of them didn't make calls" which is a wholly different ****ing point from "they didn't call all of the families."

Obama won both times by very comfortable margins.

Trump won by playing to an inside straight. He never, ever got 50% of the vote, not even in the primaries. Were it not for winner take all states in the electoral college, he would not be President.

And his poll numbers (the same polls that ACCURATELY) called the popular vote, have been sinking ever since.

Perhaps I'm not understanding the current round of rage which is not uncommon. Are we supposed to be mad because he didn't call the families or because he said that he is not unlike most other presidents in his not calling the families or because he hasn't called the families yet? If someone explains it to me, I'll join in on being pissed at something inconsequential as well.

There are a few points at which you could be pissed off, if you approach the situation objectively.

First, Trump waited more than 10 days to say anything about the loss of US soldiers and, during that time, took the effort to call out multiple different parties for not doing their job or being patriotic enough. So you could accuse him of hypocrisy or skirting his duties as President.

Second, Trump also spent much of that time golfing (I want to say 3-5 different times) and so you could accuse him, again, of skirting his duties as President or, at the least, having really poor priorities.

And third, when Trump did finally respond to the effort, he intentionally chose to deflect from points 1 and 2 by making an objectively false and wholly infuriating allegation against the previous President. And so you could accuse him of lying and/or being a whiny little bitch of a snowflake who can't handle criticism and has to deflect like said whiny little bitch of a snowflake.

 

Jesus Christ, does it need to be an incontrovertible impeachable offence for his sycophants to criticize their master? No one is saying to throw the orange POS in jail - the OP is just pointing out what a d-bag trump is. Of course I guess we all know that anyway, right?
