Trump: 'MAGA Nation' Must 'Rise Up' Against Mandates, School Closures
    [IMG]
On the eve of the one-year anniversary of the Capitol riot, and with the Biden administration poised to focus on that calendar milestone while COVID-19 cases soar, former President Donald Trump called on the "MAGA nation" to "rise up" against "egregious federal government overreach."

"The Biden administration's response to COVID is getting worse every day," Trump wrote in a pointed statement Wednesday from his Save America PAC. "Joe Biden said, 'there is no federal solution' to the pandemic, but he then federalized the distribution of antibodies, and red states are getting the short end of the stick.

"In my administration, we respected the role of governors to take care of their own states, and they could request antibodies and therapeutics depending on what they needed. That's the way our country is supposed to be run."

Trump was referring to Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis assailing Biden's Health and Human Services over controlling the availability of monoclonal antibody treatments for COVID-19 infected patients in Florida.

On a parallel COVID track, Trump rebuked Biden, who he says reneged on a campaign promise not to "shut down" the economy or schools in efforts to "shut down" COVID.…

rump is exactly right. He empathized working with and supporting the states in meeting their needs. He engaged in federalism. He supported the states in meeting their needs. He never considered mandates, or government dictates. He supported individuals making their own choices.

Trump is right. We must resist school closures. We must oppose mask mandates and vaccine passports. We will not surrender our liberty, freedom, and rights. We will not just sit down, shut up, and obey.

You think that every time he speaks out on any issue that it’s about a campaign. He is as a former President of the United States a very public figure and when he says something, news reporters are going to cover what he says. If you want to stay on topic, comment about what he said.

""In my administration, we respected the role of governors to take care of their own states, and they could request antibodies and therapeutics depending on what they needed. That's the way our country is supposed to be run.""

Trump is the one that did this, not Biden

"‘We’re not a shipping clerk’: Trump tells governors to step up efforts to get medical supplies"

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/03/19/trump-governors-coronavirus-medical-supplies-137658

“The Federal government is not supposed to be out there buying vast amounts of items and then shipping. You know, we’re not a shipping clerk.”"

He should have waited until tomorrow to say it. As it is he cancelled his 1-6 press conference. He’s saving those words for his 1-15 rally in Arizona.

There is noting newsworthy about Newsmax.

Trump is a one term loser that thankfully will never be POTUS again.

He canceled his 1/6 support for his insurrection conference because he's a ***** that knows the walls are closing in on him.

Let me turn that around; suppose that masks were mandated beyond a level you considered reasonable. Would you not protest in one way or another? What if schools were closed for the rest of 2022 "because if it saves even one life it's worth it!"

Everyone has a point beyond which they feel the need to resist government coercion. Some tolerate more than others, but we all have limits. Don't you?

    NO. He ISN'T!
    Trump is WRONG!

Trump is a Mistakenly-Elected Imbecile Who Came into Office Due The Most Egregious Mistake in Electoral History.

Trump has less common sense than a Village Idiot and less intelligence than a Lobotomized Fruit Fly.

The Fact that a Mentally-Unstable Sociopath (like Donald Trump) ever held the Presidency is a Permanent STAIN on American History.

His "Statement" (on the eve of 1/6) is a shining example of the unhinged rambling of a Clinical Psychopath.

Typical libertarian. Willing to defend to the DEATH our right to get an agonizing disease and die from it. Meanwhile our right to vote and women's rights to manage their own health are not so lucky.

    Never?

I don't know who was calling for violence here, but let's remember that the United States of America wasn't born via plebiscite after peaceful demonstrations. Were the Americans wrong to take up arms against the British? The British were not enslaving Americans or imprisoning them without trial or anything really too egregious, in my opinion. Not serious enough to warrant a war resulting in tens of thousands of deaths.

You're straw manning his argument, which is "defend to the death their right to resist government mandates and take their chances."

What percent of the unvaccinated will even get infected? What percent really sick? What percent of those hospitalized? What percent of those dead? What percent of those morbidly obese?

Personally, I'm triple vaxxed; but I do respect the right of the unvaccinated to say "no," and of course the right of business owners to restrict their access.

How is that going to help beat the v Pandemic?? A PUBLIC HEALTH issue ............which sadly has been politicized to the point it is a challenge getting a handle on this pandemic.

How can a society enjoy freedoms and rights when it is dealing/ sick with a courageous virus.........?? Or does it matter ........and if folks die in droves, get sick in droves.............so what?? How is that a responsible attitude about a population's health?? How can kids learn if they are sick or can easily contract the virus??

If you have better and more constructive measure s in mind that can curtail and end this pandemic.......let's hear them.

Yes, exactly what I said. I want everyone to die.

This is why we are unable to have civil conversations. Hyperbole and straw men.

exactly!! and one can protest in many NON VIOLENT ways. An "uprising" suggests violence and mob mentality.......... and that is counterproductive in a democracy.

to even talk that violence is necessary during a pandemic because of something like masks is ridiculous
