What we are seeing in New York is a perversion of the principles established in the Constitution and the the use of the rule of law for political purposes. The properties will be sold at auction, probably at a discount. Not one person will lose their job. The new owners will still need them to run and maintain the buildings and the tenants will be paying the new owners. In fact, if they go cheaply, the new owners will be able to offer more competitive prices which will raise occupancy, which will in turn require more jobs to operate the properties.

Companies will be declaring bankruptcy and leaving the state. New businesses will not be starting up in New York. That's a curious job protection strategy.
