    The only way I will say that the US does not need NATO is if you state that the Us was weaker under Bush in 2001 than it is today under Obama.

    The size and power of the US military has been in decline since the fall of the USSR. Obama has not squandered US military power on counter productive land wars. Hence his current residual popularity.

    I cannot see how todays NATO contributes to the defense of the US. NATO cannot even resist being overrun by Islamists terrorists.

    Review the list of terrorists attacks throughout Europe over the last year. Europe cannot control its borders or protect its civilian population from attack.

    Stop trying to deflect. Either your logic stands or you admit it is bull(*)(*)(*)(*). The ability to launch attacks does not indicate "overrun".
